“Had the pleasure of meeting Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development,” Vijayan said in a tweet on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister thanked Al Nahyan for accepting his invitation to inaugurate Kerala Pavilion at Dubai Expo.
“Thank you for accepting our invitation to inaugurate the Kerala Pavilion in @expo2020Dubai,” Vijayan tweeted.
“Grateful for UAE’s enduring support to Kerala’s development,” he added.
Sheikh Nahyan said the ties between the UAE and India are witnessing ongoing overall development, supported by their leaderships, and are historic and deep-rooted.
He received Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, P. Rajeev, Minister of Law and Industries in the Government of Kerala; and Yusuff Ali, Chairman of Lulu Group, along with several Indian officials.
During the meeting, Sheikh Nahyan welcomed Vijayan and his delegation, and both sides discussed ways of strengthening the cooperation between India and the UAE, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Sheikh Nahyan stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen to enhance its cooperation with all countries, based on the values of peace, tolerance, coexistence and human solidarity.
Vijayan highlighted India’s keenness to strengthen its overall relations with the UAE and upgrade them to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

He then lauded the significant developmental achievements of the UAE and commended its successful organisation of Expo 2020 Dubai.
The chief minister, who is already in UAE since Saturday, had met with Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy on Monday.
“Had a fruitful interaction with Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy,” Vijayan tweeted soon after the meeting. “Discussed the welfare of NRKs and the prospects of fresh investments in Kerala’s industrial sector.”
He also thanked the UAE authorities and the Indian mission in Abu Dhabi for “the warm welcome and the wholehearted support offered for Kerala’s progress.”
