Bellatrix Aerospace’s payload to fly on PSLV

India’s private space player Bellatrix Aerospace will send its experimental payload on Indian rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV C55) that is set to blast off on April 22 afternoon, said a senior ISRO official.

“Bellatrix Aerospace’s payload will be flying in POEM (PSLV Orbital Experimental Module). It is an electric propulsion experiment,” the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) official said.

“Bellatrix ARKA series HET (solar electric propulsion) on board, ready for liftoff!” the company had tweeted. 

The Indian space agency uses the final stage (PS4) of the PSLV rocket as an orbital platform for in-orbit experiments.

The POEM derives the power from the solar panels mounted around the PS4 tank and a Li Ion battery. It navigates using four sun sensors, a magnetometer, gyros, and NavIC, andcarries dedicated control thrusters using helium gas storage. It is enabled with telecommand feature, ISRO had said.

The main payload of the PSLV C55 rocket will be the Singaporean earth observation satellite TeLEOS-2.

According to ISRO, the rocket is slated to liftoff from the rocket port in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh at 2.19 pm on April 22.

Dubai Airshow 2021, the much-anticipated event that will bring the global aerospace and defence industry together in Dubai, is set to witness a major presence of Saudi aerospace players. The Saudi exhibitors will showcase their innovative products and services and take part in key partnerships to support the aerospace and defense industry.

Saudi’s major aerospace to be a part of Dubai Airshow 2021

Exhibitors from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) participating at the upcoming Dubai Airshow include the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI); General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA); Saudi Aerospace Company; Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI); Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), a subsidiary of SAMI; Saudi Arabian Airlines, OxfordSaudia Flight Academy ; and GDC Middle East.

As part of its plan to diversify the Kingdom’s economy, Saudi Arabia is placing a significant focus on digital transformation as well as supporting various industries, including aerospace and defence. In support of the Kingdom’s digitalisation, AEC recently signed an agreement with Prince Sultan Advanced Technology Research Institute (PSATRI) to manufacture Sky Guard drone, Argaam, for surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

GAMI recently announced 74 targeted opportunities in supply chains in Saudi Arabia’s military industries sector in an effort to localise more than 50 percent of Saudi’s military spending by 2030. GAMI also launched a digital marketplace platform to enable authorised investors to access the local military industry easily and identify localisation opportunities.

SAMI has been supporting the localisation of Saudi Arabia’s military industries sector, where it has recently signed a logistics services agreement with Bahri, a global leader in logistics and transportation based in Saudi Arabia, where the latter will provide wide-ranging internal and external logistics services to SAMI’s companies.

To be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence, Dubai Airshow 2021 will take place at Dubai World Central (DWC), Dubai Airshow Site from the 14-18 November 2021.

Aerospace leaders to outline roadmap at Dubai Airshow conferences

One of the key sessions in Tech Xplore, “Touchless Travel: Leveraging mobile technology to overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic”, will show how leading airlines are using advanced mobile technology to make travel safe…reports Asian Lite News.

This November, the Dubai Airshow takes thought-leadership to new heights as it introduces nine tracks packed with sessions covering the full spectrum of aviation, technology, and space.

The conferences will cover an array of themes, including the role of new technologies in revolutionising air travel, major changes happening in the cargo sector, global advancements in sustainability and autonomous transportation, in addition to new space services, satellite connectivity and much more.

Global industry leaders will take part in Dubai Airshow’s conferences, including Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government; Javed Malik, Group Chief Operations Officer at AirAsia; Stacy Malphur, Vice President of Environmental Sustainability and Supply Chain at Southwest Airlines; Brian Cobb, Chief Innovation Officer at CVG Airport; Ashish Vikram, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at SpiceJet, and Brian Yutko, Chief Engineer of Sustainability and Future Mobility at Boeing.

The conferences will be split into different stages: The Hub Stage, Aerospace 2050 Forum, and Tech Xplore. One of the key sessions in Tech Xplore, “Touchless Travel: Leveraging mobile technology to overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic”, will show how leading airlines are using advanced mobile technology to make travel safe.

Furthermore, as part of the Aerospace 2050 Forum, “Investing in the future of sustainable autonomous flight” panel will shed light on Dubai’s mission to ensure that a quarter of all journeys in the emirate are taken on autonomous transport by 2030, as part of its plan to achieve sustainable aviation.

“It is apparent that the UAE is committed to creating a more sustainable future and we have collaborated with them on multiple initiatives such as founding the Sustainable Bioenergy Research Consortium (SBRC) to develop sustainable aviation fuels,” said Chris Raymond, Chief Sustainability Officer at Boeing.
