Most of the fans are waiting for the second part of Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa as it stunned the audience with its mass response in theaters. Actress Rashmika Mandanna has given an update on the sequel of the 2021 blockbuster ‘Pushpa: The Rise’.

She said, “The boys have started shooting, and I’ll be joining the shoot next month, so I’m really excited! And, the things that I’m hearing from the second half is (made the explosion sound). Really mind blown about how (director) Sukumar sir is coming up with these things, because if you watch the first half, you just feel like that is the story itself.”

She further mentioned while talking on FC Front Row, “But the second part is something much more than the first part and you’re like “wow, now that’s something fabulous!”

“At the same time, I think all of us actors from Pushpa 1 have seen our work in the first half, and now we’re much more clearer on what kind of a world we’re living in. So I think all our performances are going to change. I think the performances are going to get more intense in the second half. And yeah guys, it’s going to be amazing.”

Meanwhile, her ‘Mission Majnu’ co-actor Sidharth Malhotra broke silence on the similarities being drawn between ‘Mission Majnu’ and the 2018 film ‘Raazi’.

He said, “I think it’s never a bad thing when people are trying to use a reference point for a film, especially comparing it to a good film. Yes, the elements on the outer periphery of seeing a trailer might look similar, it is in the same decade, similar elements.”

“But, I think the experience is completely different. It’s only fair to speak to people once they see the film, the arcs…as I said, we’re only trying to give the elements which you need to decide to click, in today’s day and age, or to get engaged.”

Grateful for ‘Varisu’ success

Following a grand festive season response, the Thalapathi Vijay-Rashmika Mandanna-starrer “Varisu” has grossed Rs 210 crore in its first week and is expected to continue its victorious run at the box office.

Savouring the film’s success, Rashmika said: “Looking at the massive love and appreciation being showered on ‘Varisu’ really warms my heart and makes me feel so grateful!”

Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Rashmika’s performance in the songs ‘Ranjithame’ and ‘Jimikki Ponnu’ has been particularly appreciated by critics and audiences alike.

Allu Arjun keeps experimenting with looks for every film

Although ‘Pushpa’ is his first offering to Hindi audiences, Allu Arjun is a known face, thanks to dubbed versions of his movies which are very popular in north India. His choice of movie and role was not a gamble, Arjun emphasises.

Actor Allu Arjun is pleased as punch with his maiden theatrical release in Hindi.

Almost two weeks into its release in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi — ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ continues to bring in the crowds to the theatres.

“It’s my first Hindi theatrical release. It’s definitely far more beyond my expectations. When we released the movie, we didn’t have much expectations. It is more like testing the waters. I’m so glad that we got it right in the first shot. It’s been amazing that we got our first shot right,” Allu Arjun told.

Known for the classy urban look that he cultivated over the years, Tollywood’s stylish star, as Allu Arjun is known, surprised everyone by opting for a rustic role in his first foray outside the south Indian languages market.

Although ‘Pushpa’ is his first offering to Hindi audiences, Allu Arjun is a known face, thanks to dubbed versions of his movies which are very popular in north India. His choice of movie and role was not a gamble, Arjun emphasises.

“I always keep experimenting with my looks for every film. This film is definitely very different from anything that I have done before. I was looking at it as a huge opportunity to do something very new. I absolutely didn’t look at it as a risk. In fact, I was looking at it as the USP of the film. We were banking on the look for this film. I knew if we get it right, it’ll be the USP of the film. We put a lot of effort to get it right. So, I think the credit goes to the director for bringing such a canvas and to get it right, and giving me full freedom to experiment as much as I wanted to,” Arjun said.

‘Pushpa: The Rise’, which was released on December 17, has managed to bring in the audiences to theatres, despite the release of ’83’ on December 24. And Arjun feels that the realism in ‘Pushpa’ has worked its magic across audiences in India.

“I can’t comment on ’83’ because I haven’t seen the movie yet. What worked for ‘Pushpa’, I think, is that it’s a mass film set in a very natural screenplay. I think that works for the audience. It has a very realistic treatment of a commercial film. So I think the realism connected across many other languages. When it is realistic, it has a more universal appeal. I think the realism in the film has caught the people’s imagination,” the actor said.
