The Ministry of Tourism is showcasing India as a 365-day tourism destination at the Arabian Travel Mart being held in Dubai from May 6-9.

The ‘Incredible India’ pavilion was inaugurated on Monday by Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India to Dubai, with the aim of strengthening India’s presence in the Middle East’s tourism sector.

The pavilion has made a resounding entry, aiming to capture the entirety of the UAE market. The country’s delegation comprising tour operators, luxury hotels, wellness resorts, and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will be highlighting India’s attraction as a round-the-year tourist destination, according to an official statement.

The Ministry of Tourism has launched the ‘Cool Summers of India’ digital campaign at the Arabian Travel Mart to dispel the notion of India being too hot for summer travel.

The campaign is emphasising the country’s offerings in the hill resorts, and seeks to promote India as a holistic destination throughout the year.

More than 100 of the world’s leading travel technology companies will be exhibiting at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, which will take place at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in the UAE from Monday 6 to Thursday 9 May.

ATM 2024’s sold-out Travel Tech space will be 56% bigger than last year with 33% more exhibitors participating this year, thanks to unprecedented demand from companies looking to showcase their innovations in front of a global audience.

Sponsored by Sabre, the ATM Future Stage – formerly known as the Travel Tech Stage – will host over a hundred expert speakers from across the global travel and tourism industry, plus a diverse selection of cutting-edge innovations designed to improve efficiency and profitability within the sector. Delegates will explore how advanced tech can be leveraged to drive improvements across a range of segments, including payment, professional development, accessibility, sustainability and more.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, Arabian Travel Market, said: “My colleagues and I are delighted to introduce the ATM Future Stage, which will harness the ever-increasing levels of innovation our industry is witnessing while building on the long-standing success of our Travel Tech offering.”

The global travel technology market was valued at $9.4 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach $21 billion by 2032, according to Allied Market Research. The ATM Future Stage will host a selection of presentations and sessions designed to highlight opportunities within this space.

These include; Navigating the Future: A Futurist’s Prediction, Strategic Capabilities and Implications of AI within Business, Putting the Traveller First with AI and Unlocking the Value of Travel: Harnessing Technology for Enhanced Traveler Journeys, which will be held in association with Amadeus.

This year’s show will see the return of the ATM Start-up Pitch Battle, which will be held in association with Intelak. The third edition of the competition will see a number of the region’s most promising startups take to the Future Stage to showcase a range of innovative and potentially industry-changing solutions in front of expert judges.

Several Travel Tech exhibitors also plan to get involved in other areas of ATM 2024. Tech giant Huawei, for instance, will sponsor this year’s Capitalising on China’s Predicted Tourism Surge summit on the ATM Global Stage.

“With an exciting combination of ambitious startups and well-established brands, this year’s Travel Tech space is perfectly aligned with ATM 2024’s theme, ‘Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship’,” added Curtis.

ATM 2024 will also feature a ‘Best Use of Technology’ award at its annual exhibitor awards for the first time. Exhibitors will be evaluated on how and to what extent they have embraced and deployed technology on their stands.

In line with its theme, ‘Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship’, the 31st edition of ATM will once again host policymakers, industry leaders and travel professionals from across the Middle East and beyond, encouraging them to forge new relationships, exchange knowledge and identify innovations that can reshape the future of global travel and tourism. From startups to established brands, the upcoming show will highlight how innovators enhance customer experiences, drive efficiencies, and accelerate progress towards a net-zero future for the industry.

More than 40,000 travel trade professionals, including 30,000 visitors, attended the 30th edition of ATM in May 2023, setting a new show record. The exhibition attracted more than 2,100 exhibitors and representatives from over 155 countries, providing a global platform for the unveiling of ATM’s net-zero pledge.

ATM 2024 Addresses Sustainability & Innovation in Aviation

Transformative areas that are likely to be high on the agenda are sustainability and the role of startups and innovators in transporting the industry into the next era….reports Asian Lite News

Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which takes place from 6th to 9th May at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will host prominent international airlines and aircraft manufacturers to discuss the latest industry innovations and solutions.

Transformative areas that are likely to be high on the agenda are sustainability and the role of startups and innovators in transporting the industry into the next era.

The theme for the 31st edition of ATM is “Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship”, championing startups and innovators making a significant contribution to the travel and tourism sector.

Aligning with this innovation focus, ATM has partnered with Aviation X Lab and the Intelak programme, which have a shared mission to revolutionise the travel industry by providing a platform for startups and innovators.

Founded in 2017, Aviation X Lab is an aviation-specific incubator that unites international aviation leaders Emirates Airline, Thales Group, Collins Aerospace, GE Aerospace, and Airbus. Its mission is to reshape the future of the aviation sector through innovative, sustainable ideas.

Airlines featured at the exhibition this year include Emirates, flydubai, Saudia, flynas, Qatar Airways, and Egypt Air, which is making its debut at ATM 2024. In addition, private jet companies MayFair Jets Group and Air Charter Service will have a presence.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director ME, Arabian Travel Market, said, “ATM 2024 will showcase entrepreneurs in aviation, accommodation, hospitality and attractions, among many others, and explore how innovative sustainable trends will evolve, identifying strategies for growth within key vertical sectors. For the upcoming edition, we have partnered with Aviation X Lab and the Intelak programme to further our focus on entrepreneurship.”

The ATM conference programme takes place over four days and features presentations from global travel and tourism leaders. Innovation in the aviation sector will also be highlighted on 7th May when industry leaders from Cirium, Riyadh Air and IATA will convene on the global stage for the session ‘Looking Skyward for Innovation: How Aviation is Changing’.

ATM 2024 highlights preferences of GCC outbound travellers

To support the outbound sector still further, ATM is also organising a market insights summit, covering India, China and Latin America, as well as the latest generational travel trends….reports Asian Lite News

The GCC outbound market is forecast to grow exponentially over the next five years, driven by Gen X travellers, according to recent research, said organisers at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which takes place from 6th to 9th May at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Generation X – those born between 1965 and 1980 – are leading the significant growth in outbound travel from the GCC countries, according to findings by New York headquartered Research Nester. The report highlights numerous reasons why this generation has a dominant share of the GCC’s outbound market, particularly in the UAE and Saudi markets.

Commenting on the report, Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director, Arabian Travel Market, said, “Within an age range of approximately 43 years to 58 years, many Gen Xers hold senior positions within companies and as such tend to travel overseas regularly on business trips. In addition, with responsibility comes reward and therefore many have high earning potential and disposable income. Many successful entrepreneurs at this stage in their careers also have built significant wealth and can afford to travel frequently.”

“Many industry commentators are focused on Millennial and Gen Z travellers, but it is perfectly logical that Gen X would dominate the GCC outbound market value given the region’s demographics, particularly expatriate senior management,” Curtis added.

Members of Gen X are also changing their lifestyles, with considerable numbers now looking for a more sustainable work-life balance. This often means spending more leisure time with their families, including holidays and combining business with leisure, which is significantly growing the leisure segment of travel.

To illustrate these points, Gen X will be responsible for US$11.1 billion, 41 percent of Saudi Arabia’s total outbound market value of US$27 billion by 2028 according to the report. It is a similar picture in the UAE. Gen X will spend US$18.2 billion, 60 percent of the total market value of US$30.5 billion by 2028.

“It is also worth considering that as this generation begins to age and subsequently retire, naturally it will be Millennials who will begin to dominate outbound market share in the decade ahead,” Curtis added.

Overall, Saudi tourists favour Europe as a destination, accounting for US$13.2 billion in market value by 2028, compared with just US$7.4 billion in 2019. Other top destinations for GCC travellers include UK, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, US, India, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and South Africa. The trend of increasing outbound GCC business has certainly not gone unnoticed by many international destinations.

“In 2023 we welcomed 76 national pavilions covering approximately 55 percent of the total show floor space, with 1,350 participating companies.
“This year with the return of national pavilions from Spain and China, as well as a number of African destinations, we have allocated additional floor space to accommodate this growth,” Curtis further said.

To support the outbound sector still further, ATM is also organising a market insights summit, covering India, China and Latin America, as well as the latest generational travel trends.

In line with its theme, “Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship”, the 31st edition of ATM will once again host policymakers, industry leaders and travel professionals from across the Middle East and beyond, encouraging them to forge new relationships, exchange knowledge and identify innovations that can reshape the future of global travel and tourism.
