Deepika Padukone on Diets: “I Eat Well!”

Actress Deepika Padukone said that she eats well and has never followed a diet that she cannot be consistent with.

Deepika took to Instagram, where she shared a collage of pancakes paired with whipped cream, brownie with ice cream and samosas.

For the caption, the mother-to-be shared that she eats well.

“Surprised to see this on my feed? Well, I eat! And I eat well! Ask anyone who knows me. So don’t believe anything else you might hear or read. The trick? Balance, Consistency and Listening to YOUR Body,” Deepika said.

The 38-year-old shared that there is a misunderstanding around the word diet.

“There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding around the word ‘Diet’. We often believe that ‘Diet’ means to starve, to eat less and to eat all of the things we detest. What ‘Diet’ really means is the total of all the food and drink consumed by an individual,” she said.

“The word actually comes from the Greek word ‘diaita’, which means ‘way of life’. I’ve always, for as long as I can remember, followed a ‘Balanced Diet’,” Deepika wrote.

Deepika strongly said that she loves to indulge.

“And it is for me ‘a way of life’. I’ve never followed a diet that I cannot be consistent with or one that is a fad. Now, do I indulge? Of course, I do, as demonstrated above! But it most certainly isn’t my way of life,” she wrote.

“Ever heard the phrase ‘you are what you eat?’ If there’s one thing I’ve learnt (the hard-ish way) it is that those words couldn’t be truer.”

Talking about Deepika’s work front, the mom-to-be is basking in the success of ‘Kalki 2898 AD.’

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the post-apocalyptic film is inspired by Hindu scriptures and set in the year 2898 AD. Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Disha Patani are also part of the film. The film is a mythology-inspired sci-fi extravaganza set in the future. Actors Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur have cameos in the film.

Ranveer, on the other hand, will be seen headlining Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’ in the coming months.

Actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who attended the grand wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant on July 12, shared a heartwarming picture with the newlyweds to convey their best wishes.

Actress and soon-to-be mother Deepika Padukone shared that she posts pictures of the sky, flowers, or the ocean because she finds spending time outdoors and in nature relaxing and therapeutic

Deepika took to Instagram and shared a photo of the bright blue sky and flowers.

The actress wrote: “It’s Self-Care Month! But why celebrate ‘Self-Care Month’ when you can practice simple acts of Self-Care every day? I know a lot of you often look at my feed and go ‘Here we go again! Another picture of the Sky…or Flowers…or the Ocean!’

“But the truth is, that I find spending time outdoors and in nature truly relaxing and therapeutic. However, for most of us, finding those spaces may not be the most convenient, accessible, or may not even exist!”

The actress explained that’s why, whenever she gets the opportunity, she tries to make the most of it.

“It’s where I don’t just survive, I thrive! Whenever that isn’t possible, though, I resort to what I believe is the next best. I take a few moments and step away. Between shots, between meetings to a place that feels completely different from the space I spend most of my time in. It’s something my father taught me.”

Deepika, who is married to Bollywood’s livewire star Ranveer Singh, urged others to make “self-care a daily practice.”

“Stepping away allows me to pause, breathe, and re-align…myself and my thoughts. P.S. For those of you who smoke, those breaks don’t count! Join me in making self-care a daily practice.”

On the work front, Deepika will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, alongside Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Jackie Shroff, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, among many others.

Actress Deepika Padukone’s LiveLoveLaugh (LLL) foundation has announced a new platform for mental health conversations with the launch of ‘Lecture Series Unplugged’.

This quarterly event aims to build awareness and sustain open discussions about mental health.

Deepika, Founder of LiveLoveLaugh, said: “Over the last decade, LLL has managed to successfully create a safe space for crucial mental health conversations. With ‘Lecture Series Unplugged’, LLL aims to reach a broader audience by offering relatable stories that can further strengthen our impact on individuals, communities, and society at large.”

The series will spotlight prominent figures sharing their lived experiences and insights on success, failures, triumphs, and learnings.

“By featuring personal stories, we’d like to foster a sense of connection and hope and an understanding that mental health challenges are a common part of the human experience,” said Shyam Bhat, psychiatrist and chairperson of LiveLoveLaugh.

‘Lecture Series Unplugged’ is co-hosted by Deepika’s sister Anisha Padukone, CEO of LiveLoveLaugh, and Shyam Bhat, who provides expert insights.

In the maiden episode, actor, influencer, and content creator Danish Sait shares his mental health strategies and experiences in an engaging discussion.

“Seeing a psychiatrist really healed me because the medication aided me in calming my mind,” notes Sait during the ‘Lecture Series Unplugged’ episode, while advocating for individuals to use a self-compassionate approach to deal with life’s challenges.

‘Lecture Series Unplugged’ episodes will be available on the foundation’s website and social media handles.

Ahead of the trailer launch, actress Deepika Padukone shared a new poster on Sunday, offering a glimpse into her intriguing look from the film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’

Deepika posted the poster on Instagram, where she appears captivating against a dystopian landscape backdrop.

The actress looks distressed, as if she is on an emotional journey.

She captioned the post: “The hope begins with her. #Kalki2898AD trailer out tomorrow.”

Deepika’s husband, Ranveer Singh, turned cheerleader for her as he commented: “BOOM Stunner!”

Directed by renowned filmmaker Nag Ashwin, the film is set in a distant, dystopian future where humanity will face challenges.

On June 7, megastar Amitabh Bachchan shared his new look as Ashwatthama, expressing his excitement for the film.

He wrote, “Waiting yes for this great honour of being in the company of GREATS!! His wait is ending… 3 days to go for #Kalki2898AD Trailer, out on June 10.”

The film, slated for release on June 27, also stars Prabhas and Kamal Haasan.

Deepika Tops IMDb’s Most Viewed Indian Stars of the Decade

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who will be soon seen in ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has topped the IMDb list of Top 100 Most Viewed Indian Stars of the Last Decade. Following her is the actor opposite whom she made her debut with ‘Om Shanti Om’, Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan.

This list of all top Indian stars is determined by the actual page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide.

Reacting to the news, Deepika said: “I’m deeply grateful to be included in a list that captures the sentiment of a global audience. IMDb stands as a beacon of credibility, reflecting the true pulse of people’s passion, interests and preferences.”

She further mentioned: “This recognition is truly humbling and inspires me to continue connecting with and reciprocating the love I receive from audiences, both on and off the screen with authenticity and purpose.”

Third spot on the list is occupied by actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who recently walked the red carpet at the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Alia Bhatt is on the fourth spot followed by the late actor Irrfan Khan.

Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, too find a place in the top 10. While Aamir is at number six, Salman holds the eighth spot, separated by the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput at number seven.

The list also includes Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kareena Kapoor, Nayanthara, Ajay Devgn, Triptii Dimri and others.

The list has actors from the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries. Kamal Haasan, at Number 54, has the longest film career in the list with his debut as a child actor in 1960.

The Top 100 Most Viewed Indian Stars of the Last Decade on IMDb list is based on the IMDb weekly rankings from January 2014 through April 2024.

Cartier unveiled its newest boutique in Mumbai at Jio World Plaza with their House Ambassador, Deepika Padukone in attendance to officiate the ribbon cutting ceremony. Mumbai is the latest city to join Maison’s international network of boutiques, a city known for its rich culture that combines entertainment, economy, and arts all in one.

The Mumbai boutique, the second Cartier boutique to open in India after New Delhi, comes as a natural continuation of the Maison’s storied ties with the country dating over a century. Through the years, India has become one of Maison’s key influences, helping inspire a new stylistic language through the exchange of design, craftsmanship, and stones.

Sophie Doireau, CEO of Cartier Middle East, India, Africa & Turkey, said of the new opening, “India is a vibrant country with a dynamic and youthful population that is both inspired by its heritage and poised to innovate for a brighter future. On the work front, Deepika will next be seen alongside Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor in the upcoming film ‘Fighter’ directed by Siddharth Anand.

Ranveer was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Cirkus’. He is now gearing up for Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. He will be seen reuniting with his ‘Gully Boy’ co-star Alia Bhatt.

‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ also stars Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan.

Deepika’s Bhutan vacation

Praising the actress for being ‘gracious’ off-screen, a fan captioned an Instagram post, “This deserves its own post. I respected her wishes for privacy and gracious as she is on screen she is gracious off the screen and came up to me when she was ready for a pic. #deepikapadukone.”

On her visit to Neyphug Heritage, the actress stopped at a nearby cafe and posed for pictures with its customers and workers. “It has been a tremendous joy to serve you and your family.” On their most recent Instagram post, the cafe’s Instagram page wrote a message of thanks. “Such a down to earth soul.”

Deepika Padukone’s fan page also tweeted a snapshot of her standing with a couple in Bhutan. Deepika looks stylish in the photo, dressed in a brown coordinated ensemble with a grey topcoat and white trainers.

SRK’s mass comeback in espionage thriller ‘Pathaan’

Pathaan (Shah Rukh) is an exiled RAW field operative who is assigned to take down his old nemesis, Jim (John Abraham), a former RAW agent turned rogue…reviewed by Arnab Banerjee

Finally, the much-awaited Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Pathaan’ hit the theatres on Wednesday. And, expectedly all the pre-release exhilaration translates into high energy rush as the film presents the story of an Indian spy, who takes on the leader of a group of mercenaries who has nefarious plans to target his homeland, captivating the audience.

That the lead actor is the ‘Badshah’ of Bollywood gives the fans all the more reason to scream, dance and sing in the cinema halls. Serpentine queues for a 6 a.m. show is a rarity in India, at least for a Hindi film.

In short, the film is an espionage thriller that is most likely to lead box office collections.

Pathaan (Shah Rukh) is an exiled RAW field operative who is assigned to take down his old nemesis, Jim (John Abraham), a former RAW agent turned rogue.

Jim leads ‘Outfit X’, a private terrorist organisation, which is planning to spread a deadly virus dubbed ‘Raktbeej’ across India. The virus, if unleashed, could be much deadlier than any other virus winessed by the mankind.

Right from the opening scene, the unusually fast-paced plot moves with RAW agents, spies, terrorists and a Pakistani Army officer scheming and plotting in different parts of the world.

Rattled by the revocation of Article 370, which granted special status to the eratwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, by the Indian government, Pakistan has all the evil intentions and the wherewithal to infiltrate and annihilate the Indian territory. For this purpose, Jim, who has a past and had been double-crossed by Indians earlier, is hired.

And here comes yet another ex-ISI agent, Rubina Khan (Deepika Padukone), leaving many guessing as to who teams with whom.

Pathaan, a diehard patriot who had retired, is called back by his boss Nandini (Dimple Kapadia). Meanwhile, their supreme boss, Colonel Sunil Luthra (Ashutosh Rana), is left worried, still trying to figure out what move to adopt to save human lives with threat of destruction looming large.

With gun-toting agents spreading destruction all around, a svelte and sexy Rubina is seen displaying her charm in a bikini that had riled up the saffron outfits until a few weeks ago when the song ‘Besharam Rang’ was released on internet.

Of course, she is aware of the past and present danger and knows precisely whom to side with as more and more evil-intentioned men appear on the scene.

Amid such chaos, if there’s one ray of hope it’s obviously the presence of the most sought-after, most-loved, and fearless Pathaan. With James Bond-like intensity, Pathaan has supreme fight sequences to match.

Crammed with high octane action that is virtually frenziedly uninterrupted and relentless, there’s not a single moment that would make the viewers take a breather.

Shah Rukh, who needs a box office blockbuster badly, is perhaps the only actor who could have looked lethal with his six -packs and delivering lines in hushed tones that melts Padukone. His charm remains intact as he tries to briefly romance, while all along diving and jumping from mountains and rooftops in a bid to oust his enemies.

And it isn’t just his young looks, his energy is so infectious that many among the cinegoers whistled every time he scored a point over his opponent. Such is his impact and following!

Padukone too proves why she was the one chosen by Hollywood to don colourful bodysuits, leggings and catsuits. John Abraham too is a perfect foil to Khan’s ripping muscles and performs well. To match Khan’s young looks, he too manages to sport a dashing fresh youthful look.

The action scenes are at par with any Hollywood production, while the cinematography by Satchith Paulose captures some exquisite landscapes in Spain, Russia, Dubai, Italy and France.

Though there is not much scope for songs in such a narrative, Vishal-Shekhar numbers are extremely catchy.

All those who are still worried about Bollywood’s no show for months, can decisively breathe easy with the satisfaction that given the right production, engaging script and mega stars at the helm, Hindi cinema should be back on track!
