    In its latest update on Monday morning, the University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload and the death toll stood at 480,897,085 and 6,123,409, respectively, while the total number of vaccine doses administered has increased to 10,870,749,502.

    The US continues to be the worst-hit country with the world’s highest number of cases and deaths at 79,954,418 and 976,702, according to the CSSE.

    India accounts for the second highest caseload at 43,019,453.

    Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has received Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, at Expo 2020 Dubai.

    During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and Dr. Al-Hajraf discussed regional and global issues and developments, as well as ways to bolster joint GCC action.

    The sides also reviewed the outputs of the GCC’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, and the role of the GCC Pavilion in spotlighting the heritage, history, achievements and future plans of GCC countries.

    H.H. Sheikh Abdullah underscored the GCC’s key role in tackling the common challenges facing its member countries, as well as strengthening the strategic and fraternal between them to ensure a prosperous future peoples for their peoples.

    Meanwhile, Sheikh Abdullah also met Dr. Robert Habeck, German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, at Expo 2020 Dubai.

    During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and Dr. Habeck discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and joint cooperation in all fields, including economic, trade, investment and energy.

    GISEC Global 2022, the region’s largest and most influential cybersecurity event, opens today with government leaders, the world’s top cybersecurity companies and international experts collaborating to curate regional cybersecurity agendas. GISEC Global will focus on this year’s key theme of “Enabling Future Cybercities: Everything Enabling, Everything Secure.”

    Featuring more than 300 exhibitors and attracting 10,000 industry professionals, business leaders and changemakers from more than 70 countries, the event will be held until 23rd March, 2022, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

    The event will feature more than 200 high-calibre speakers, including national cybersecurity leaders, tech pioneers, policymakers, researchers, and intelligence heads.

    The UAE Cyber Security Council will host the annual Global Cybersecurity Congress to unify efforts at the local, national, and global cross-sector levels. In addition, the Congress will help shape national security and defence strategies to combat evolving threats, while also providing a multitude of training workshops for industry professionals.

    Speaking ahead of the event, Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security, UAE Government, said, “We look forward to driving meaningful dialogue around technology, innovation and cybersecurity practices, to increase international collaboration and information-sharing to strengthen the region’s cybersecurity posture.”

    The three-day event is split across five stages and will feature a Government Stage hosted by the Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC), and new content tracks focusing on healthcare, telecoms, critical infrastructure, and finance.

    Among numerous country pavilions, the show is also set to host industry leaders, such as Microsoft, Huawei, Spire Solutions, and newcomers Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cisco Security, Honeywell, Checkpoint, and many more.
