Kent Knockers Clinch GBS Trophy in Thrilling Final

Kent knockers team won the match held at Gymkhana Osterley on 10th September 2023 by very few runs to win the championship…reports Ayesha Khan

When India proved its prowess by landing on the Moon, IIW decided to get the shining stars on the Earth and indeed at the historic Indian Gymkhana Club Osterley, they were all jubilant, shining and brimming with passion.

India, UK, setting new records in professional cricket and taking the sport to the next level. By Breaking all the taboos of society all around world women have already been creating new history and relentlessly proving that there is not a thing a woman can’t do. Fitness, Social interactions in the name of practice and sporting spirit as well as break the stereotype of cricket being a Gentleman’s Game were few purposes of the Tournament. Many ladies want to break the monotony of life by being part of something fun and competitive rather than the usual work, home and parties. Ladies preferably non-professionals, home makers, lost touch with the popular sports excitedly started forming teams as soon as we announced.

A great step towards encouraging women to move towards physically fit and inspiring society for our new generation. A strong, happy woman in family helps in harmony in society and nation.

It was a nail-biting finish at the end as runner up team Legendry London made it tough for Kent knockers to reach to the comprehensive victory. In midst of high weather temperature and soaring high excitement at the ground Kent knockers claimed the GBS trophy. with the well-planned batting order and team strategy. Masnavi Woman of the Match trophy was won by -Krima Patel from Legendry London

The famous Narrator and Compere Mr Ravi Sharma kept the crowd enthralled and entertained with his commentary.

Mr Asim Dutta, Director of UK Business Development GBS, Dr Dinesh Saraswat, Head of Community Outreach GBS and His Worshipful Mayor Afzaal Kiani presented the trophy to the winning team ‘Kent Knockers’ and medals to all the participating women players.

Honourable figures from Government marked their presence and showed their strong support for women empowerment by continuously encouraging them during entire match. Chief Guests were His Worshipful Mayor of Hounslow Afzaal Kiani and Shri Sanjay Kumar Second Secretary (Coordination) High Commission of India UK,  Guests of Honour were Warrant Officer Ashok Kumar Chauhan from the British Army, Leader of Cllr Shantanu Rajawat, Cllr Allan, Cllr Ron Mushiso, Mr Asim Dutta, Director of GBS UK Business Development, Dr Dinesh Saraswat, Head of Community Outreach Global Banking School, Mr Suresh Gupta -Founder India welfare Society ( the oldest society in UK ) Ms Purnima Rawal (Former Longest serving Hindu Met Police officer), Former Cllr Arun, Suresh kumar (Indra travels) Author of book – ‘Follow your Dreams’, Speaker / Entrepreneur/ Motivational Coach Sujay Paul.
