Driver In Las Vegas Tesla Blast Was US Soldier

The driver identified as Matthew Alan Livelsberger reportedly shot himself in the head prior to the blast that injured seven people.

The driver of the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas was an active-duty US Army Green Berret, according to sources reported by CNN.

The driver identified as Matthew Alan Livelsberger reportedly shot himself in the head prior to the blast that injured seven people.

Livelsberger was serving in Germany with 10th Special Forces Group and was on leave at the time of the incident, CNN reported.

Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill informed on Thursday (local time) at a news conference the driver shot himself in the head prior to the blast. While McMahill and others officials only referred to the driver as the “subject” and “person of interest,” they showed a photo of Livelsberger and gave his name at the news conference.

“I will not come back until I have the confirmation through DNA or medical records that this is indeed, in fact, the subject inside of the vehicle,” McMahill said.

The US Army said Thursday in a statement Livelsberger was on leave at the time of his death, though did not specifically say he died in the Vegas explosion. The US Special Forces, commonly known as the “Green Berets,” bill themselves as an elite fighting force specializing in guerilla warfare and unconventional tactics abroad.

As per the LA Times, Livelsberger acted alone and the motivation is under investigation.

Earlier, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the “evil knuckleheads” picked the wrong vehicle to attack as the Cybertruck contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards.

“The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken,” Elon Musk wrote on X.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden, speaking about the possible connection between the New Orleans attack and the Las Vegas Cybertruck explosion, said that the investigation is still going on, however, no evidence of such a connection has been found thus far. (ANI)

Las Vegas: Gunman Among 3 Killed in Campus Shooting

The incident occurred near BEAM Hall on the campus of UNLV on Wednesday morning…reports Asian Lite News

At least three people, including the gunman, were killed in a shooting on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), local police said.

The incident occurred near BEAM Hall on the campus of UNLV on Wednesday morning, Xinhua news agency reported.

Addressing media persons, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Sherif Kevin McMahill said: “There is no further threat on campus. No more threat to the community. The suspect is deceased. Right now, we know there are 3 victims, but unknown extent of the injuries. That number could change.”

The injured were rushed to hospital, the police said.

McMahill said UNLV campus and other branches of the varsity were being closed for the day “out of an abundance of caution.”

Taking to X, LVMPD said: “This is an active investigation. Please continue to avoid the area and watch for responding emergency units.”

Around noon local time, the university posted an emergency notice online, saying, “University Police responding to report of shots fire in BEH evacuate to a safe area, RUN-HIDE-FIGHT.”

LVMPD did not disclose the conditions of the injured in the shooting. Investigation of the shooter’s motives is underway.

A hotline has been set up for those impacted by the shooting on campus.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman posted on X: “Tragic and heartbreaking news coming out of @unlv. Praying for everyone on campus as law enforcement responds to the situation,”

In Washington, D.C., the White House said it is monitoring the shooting reported at UNLV.

UNLV has a student enrollment of about 25,400 undergraduates and 4,300 graduates.

Las Vegas police probe multiple UFO sightings

The developments come as the powerful House Oversight Committee of the US House of Representatives is planning to hold a hearing on UFOs …reports Asian Lite News

Police in Las Vegas have investigated multiple reports of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) sightings that occurred on the night of April 30, a media report said.

According to body camera footage obtained by USA Today, an officer drove to a family’s residence on that night after they called 911 to report the sighting.

One of the family members told the officer they saw “a big creature” that was “long, 10 feet tall”.

The officer told the family that he was looking into the claims because another cop saw something in the sky that matched the family’s description eight minutes earlier.

“I’m not going to BS, you guys. One of my partners said they saw something fall out of the sky, too, so that’s why I’m kind of curious,” USA Today on Thursday quoted the officer as saying in the body camera footage.

“It’s weird just the fact that our partner saw something at the exact time,” he added.

Meanwhile, another nearby resident also called 911 on the same night to report about something “100 per cent not human” on their property, Las Vegas-based local TV station 8 News Now reported.

A separate body camera footage showed a glowing object flying in the sky.

About 40 minutes later, another man called 911 to report two unknown entities in his backyard after he and his family saw a similar object fall from of the sky, according to 8 News Now.

“There’s like an 8-foot person beside it and another one is inside us and it has big eyes and it’s looking at us and it’s still there,” the man said, according to the police dispatch audio posted by the TV channel.

“In my backyard. I swear to God this is not a joke, this is actually — we’re terrified.”

The man described the creatures as large and somewhere between 8 to 10 feet tall and appearing like aliens with big mouths, big shiny eyes.

The developments come as the powerful House Oversight Committee of the US House of Representatives is planning to hold a hearing on UFOs after a former intelligence official claimed that the Washington government has allegedly found crashed alien spacecraft.

On Monday, the former intelligence official, David Grusch, had said that the government has a covert program focused on recovering debris from crashed, non-human origin spacecraft and is attempting to reverse-engineer the technology, ABC News reported.

During a hearing in April, Director of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) Sean Kirkpatrick told the Senate Armed Services Committee that his agency was reviewing 650 incidents dating back decades but “found no credible evidence thus far of extraterrestrial activity, off-world technology, or objects that defy the known laws of physics”.

But last week, Kirkpatrick said that the total number of incidents had grown to “well over 800 cases”.

Between 2004 to 2022, the US government has received more than 510 reports of UFOs, according to a declassified version of an annual report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence published in January this year.
