Pictures of bride-to-be Radhika Merchant from her Haldi function are out and undoubtedly her look is as mesmerising as ever. The highlight of her yellow ensemble created by Anamika Khanna was her “phoolon ki chadar dupatta.” The dupatta was adorned with mogra flower buds while the border featured yellow marigold flowers.

Fashion lovers have been going gaga over the dupatta ever since Radhika’s pictures from the function surfaced online. “How creative this dupatta,” a social media user commented. “Loved the dupatta,” another one wrote. “Unreal,” another user wrote. Radhika was styled by Rhea Kapoor and Sanya Kapoor for the occasion. She elevated her look with floral jewellery.

The Haldi ceremony of Radhika and Anant Ambani was attended by celebrities such as Udit Narayan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Manushi Chhillar, Orry, and Rahul Vaidya among others. Earlier, Anant and Radhika took part in a Grah Shanti Puja ceremony. Singer Nikita Waghela took to Instagram to share glimpses from the event, including the serene moments of the Grah Shanti and Mandap Muhurat Puja.

As part of the wedding celebrations, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani recently organised a mass wedding for the underprivileged on July 2 at Swami Vivekanand Vidyamandir in Palghar.
On July 3, Ambanis organised a spectacular Mameru ceremony- a Gujarati wedding tradition where the bride’s maternal uncle (mama) visits her with sweets and gifts. The wedding festivities are meticulously planned, adhering to traditional Hindu Vedic customs. The main ceremonies will commence on Friday, July 12, with the auspicious Shubh Vivah, or wedding function and according to sources, guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the occasion by dressing in traditional Indian attire.

The celebrations will continue on Saturday, July 13, with Shubh Aashirwad. The final event, Mangal Utsav or the wedding reception, is scheduled for Sunday, July 14. On July 5, the Ambani family also hosted a Sangeet Ceremony which saw participation by a constellation of celebrities. Global pop sensation Justin Bieber also performed at the sangeet ceremony.
Earlier this year, the couple hosted a series of pre-wedding festivities in Jamnagar, which saw a star-studded guest list from around the globe. (ANI)

Actors may struggle to embody their characters and detach from them, especially when the role is similar or dissimilar to their personality. Actress Radhika Madan shares her experience of playing Shanta in show ‘Saas Bahu aur Flamingo’ and how the character was different, yet similar to her in real life.

Talking about this, she added, “My character Shanta and I are poles apart in our approach, but I think the only similarity we have is we are both passionate and eager, however, apart from that, we are really very different. Shanta is much calmer, composed, self-assured, confident and calculative when it comes to her words, and being an actor, I do crave for the uncertainty, which drives me to challenge myself at every step and explore the uncharted territories, pushing the envelope further and further.

“I am a learner, excited to see things from the different perspectives of my characters and take back new lessons from each role and their journeys. So, I guess I lack the clarity like Shanta because as an actor we need to have more uncertainty to explore new avenues and I am more energetic and expressive than her, but I had a great time playing Shanta and now when I think of it, I do miss her.”

Produced by Maddock Films, the series is directed by the uber-talented Homi Adajania and stars Dimple Kapadia, Radhika Madan, Angira Dhar and Isha Talwar in pivotal roles along with a talented cast, Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, Deepak Dobriyal and Monica Dogra amongst others.

‘Saas Bahu aur Flamingo’ releases on May 5 on Disney+ Hotstar.

Radhika Apte is one of the vibrant actors in the industry will be seen playing the role of an undercover agent in upcoming film “Mrs.Undercover”.

The film marks directorial debut of writer Anushree Mehta.

The poster indicates the interesting dichotomous combination of an Indian housewife holding a gun.

Talking about the film, Radhika says: “Anushree came to me with this film some time back and the novelty of the story had me excited. When I saw this first look, it was that same excitement I felt and it was not only as someone who is a part of the film but also as a member of the audience.

I think we all wanted to show the essence of the film through this first poster and I must say that we have captured it well. Now, I am waiting to see what the audience has to say about this special film of ours.”

The film also stars actor Sumeet Vyas alongside Radhika.

Mehta is happy to direct the film for the first time with Radhika taking the lead as the character.

“It is surreal to take this initial step and share the first look of our film with the world. We believe in giving quality content to the viewers and have tried very hard to achieve that with ‘Mrs. Undercover’. The title, the poster, the imagery is a long-thought process to make people excited. I am so glad that I found an actor like Radhika Apte to play the titular character,” she says.

“Mrs. Undercover” is produced by Ishan Saksena, Abir Sengupta, Sunil Shah, and Varun Bajaj.
