Read Excerpt:

You always manage to dress in style, what is that one fashion mantra that you stick by?

My go-to fashion mantra is not to go after trends but to wear what makes you feel comfortable and happy!

What made you collaborate with Onitsuka Tiger? What are your favourite pieces from the collection?

I am extremely excited to be associated with Onitsuka Tiger as their contemporary collection completely resonates with my sartorial sense – unique, minimalistic, and artistic. The brand allows me to showcase all aspects of my personality while experimenting with fashion-forward styles and silhouettes.

From the latest collection, I absolutely love mega anoraks, the oversized coats made of crafted faux fur, tailored, oversized three-button jackets, and coats. These items can also be worn on top of each other to make the silhouette voluminous, but less bulky.

You recently attended the Milan Fashion Week for the very first time. How was your experience and what is that one fashion inspiration that you have taken back?

RM: The experience was nothing short of incredible. I absolutely loved Onitsuka Tiger’s entire Autumn/Winter 2023 collection showcased at the Milan Fashion Week. The theme of the collection was “Urban Layering” representing the central part of Japanese culture – dressing in layers. The new AW23 collection builds on the essence of this Japanese tradition by filtering it through Onitsuka Tiger’s sporty DNA – presenting a collection that, while maintaining its active spirit, is more focused on an urban aesthetic.

From creating a positive fashion impact in Tollywood to Bollywood and now even globally, how do you manage to be confident with what you wear to create a statement with your looks?

Fashion for me is a reflection of my personality with a lot of comforts involved. So to be comfortable and confident in what you wear is the only way to put your best foot forward.

What’s your personal favourite style when it comes to footwear? How important is it to choose the right footwear for your look?

RM: Opting for the right footwear allows me to be confident, not conscious. Choosing the right footwear is such an essential part of everyday life, something so simple that can go such a long way. My go-to footwear style is vibrant hues with modern styling. Onitsuka Tiger’s footwear collection keeps me super-comfortable and super-stylish throughout the day.

She said, “The boys have started shooting, and I’ll be joining the shoot next month, so I’m really excited! And, the things that I’m hearing from the second half is (made the explosion sound). Really mind blown about how (director) Sukumar sir is coming up with these things, because if you watch the first half, you just feel like that is the story itself.”

So I think all our performances are going to change. I think the performances are going to get more intense in the second half. And yeah guys, it’s going to be amazing.”

Meanwhile, her ‘Mission Majnu’ co-actor Sidharth Malhotra broke silence on the similarities being drawn between ‘Mission Majnu’ and the 2018 film ‘Raazi’.

He said, “I think it’s never a bad thing when people are trying to use a reference point for a film, especially comparing it to a good film. Yes, the elements on the outer periphery of seeing a trailer might look similar, it is in the same decade, similar elements.”

“But, I think the experience is completely different. It’s only fair to speak to people once they see the film, the arcs…as I said, we’re only trying to give the elements which you need to decide to click, in today’s day and age, or to get engaged.”

‘No Industry is different’

Rashmika feels there is no difference when it comes to working in any industry…reports Asian Lite News.

Actress Rashmika is about to debut in Bollywood as she revealed earlier through social media. Rashmika started her career with Kannada film and successfully entered Telugu and Tamil films. She is now set to make her Bollywood debut with “Mission Majnu”, followed by her role in the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer “Goodbye”. Rashmika feels there is no difference when it comes to working in any industry.

“I believe every team, director, crew member work differently. So, if the same cast is working with different team, they become different. So, none of them are the same (individually) but no industry is different. Everyone is just a storyteller,” she tells.

Radhika has been leading in the film industry as an actress since her 2016 debut with “Kirik Party”. However, the Hindi debut happened only recently, in Badshah’s music video “Top Tucker”.

“I think it’s just the time because before Covid hit, I had no time because I was doing so many South films and I didn’t feel at that time that I should do Bollywood (films). Once Covid hit and other projects slowed down, I felt it was the right time to do it and that’s when ‘Mission Majnu’ and ‘Goodbye’ came. There is no particular reason why I didn’t do it because back then I had a couple of Hindi film offers but I feel now is the right time,” she says.

Rashmika ready for Bollywood debut

Telugu actor Allu Sirish insists “Vilayati sharaab” was not a planned step. “I don’t know how did this land in my lap. This is a stroke of luck or something…reports Asian Lite News.

Geetha Govindam fame Rashmika Mandana is a very familiar figure in the film industry now. Rashmika will make her Hindi debut with “Mission Majnu”, but before that she surprised fans when she entered the Hindi showbiz scene with an appearance in the music video of Badshah and Yuvan Shankar Raja’s latest hit, “Top Tucker”.

Telugu actor Allu Sirish, too, has taken the Hindi music video route to enter pan-Indian mindspace. He appears in the new Darshan Raval track “Vilayati sharaab”.

Are music videos the new big ticket for regional actors aspiring to woo Hindi-speaking markets? Trade analyst Atul Mohan believes that for regional actors, doing Hindi music videos is part of their “pan-India goal”.

“Times are changing. With the success of ‘Baahubali’, ‘KGF’ and dubbed films, the dynamics of the market has changed. Now, actors like Prabhas and Vijay Deverakonda are promoted as pan-India stars. Everyone wants to go pan-India, to increase popularity. Music video seems to be the new favourite. It is one of the steps to achieving the pan-India goal and increase the face value,” he tells.

Telugu actor Allu Sirish insists “Vilayati sharaab” was not a planned step. “I don’t know how did this land in my lap. This is a stroke of luck or something. Even while doing the video I didnt think how many views I would get. I just enjoyed it so much. I wish I could just again shoot the video because it was so much fun,” he says.

Singer and music composer Nakul Abhyankar, has composed music for Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films and is known for his track “Thumbi Thullal” (Cobra), “Azhage” (Tamil film ‘Action’) among others. In his opinion, the collaborative effort of bringing artistes of the North and the South always reaps good results.

“Movie releases have reduced because of Covid and hard truth of any film industry is that if you are out of sight, you are out of mind. What Badshah did with Top Tucker was great. It was good to see the North and the South come together with Badshah on one side and Yuvan (Shankar Raja) and Rashmika on other side,” he says.

He adds: “It’s a good thing to see big names being involved in independent music scene. It’s a good thing but I would also love to see musicians come up along with actors and make a bigger impact.”
