Ingredients
- Whole-wheat Flour – 1 ½ cup
- Salt – ½ tsp
- Water – accordingly to knead the dough
For the filling
- Chicken Mince – 150 g
- Minced Garlic – 2 tbsp
- Onion – ½ [finely chopped]
- Spring Onions – 2 stems [finely chopped]
- Coriander – 2 – 3 tbsp [ [finely chopped]
- Green Chillies – 3 – 4 [finely chopped]
- Soya Sauce – 1 tsp
- Salt – as per your taste
- Black Pepper – ½ tsp
- Vinegar – ½ tsp
For the sauce
- Tomatoes – 3 mediums
- Dry Red Chilli – 8
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Ginger – ½ tsp [chopped]
- Salt – as per your taste
- Sugar – ½ tsp
- Coriander Leaves – 2 tsp [chopped]
Method
- Mix all the filling ingredients and keep aside.
- To make the dough, slowly add water to the flour until it forms a dough. Knead until smooth. Drizzle over some oil and cover it with a towel. let it rest for 20 – 30 mins.
- Pinch a small size of the dough and flatten it. Roll the ball using a rolling pin. Roll the ball to 4-5 diameters. Roll from the sides, the centre should be thick.
- Now place a heaped tablespoon of the filling on the centre. Start to pleat the edges slowly and gather everything.
- Press in the middle and seal the momos forming a bundle.
Method for sauce
- Boil the red chillies in water. Once boiled, remove and keep aside.
- Blanch the tomatoes. Once cooled, peel the skin.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add ginger, garlic, red chilli, blanched tomatoes, salt and sugar. Cook for 2 mins.
- Let this mixture cool down then grind it with coriander leaves.
- Heat the steamer and grease the pan and place the momos on it. Steam the momos for 10 – 12 mins on medium flame. Momos are ready to eat
