I would also like to thank Sir Tim Barrow for his expertise over the past few years, particularly his dedicated service to the UK’s unwavering support to Ukraine.”
The Cabinet Secretary, Simon Case, said, “I am delighted Gwyn Jenkins has been appointed as the new National Security Adviser. Gwyn brings a wealth of experience from both his distinguished career in the military and from his time spent working at the heart of government, including as Deputy National Security Adviser. This experience makes him excellently placed to lead the UK’s national security system and represent our interests overseas in these challenging times for global security. I would also like to thank Tim Barrow for his contribution as National Security Adviser since September 2022. I am grateful to Tim for his leadership of our national security community during this vital time for the UK and our international allies.
Commenting on his appointment, General Jenkins said, “I am honoured to be appointed to this key position, and return to the Cabinet Office at a critical time for our national security.
