All corrupt people are now with BJP, says Sanjay Singh

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming that all the “corrupt” people are now with BJP.

“It is extremely unfortunate and shameful for Bharat Mata and every Indian that the Prime Minister of our country is cleansing the biggest of the corrupt and chanting slogans for BJP like, ‘The greater the corrupt, the higher the rank or position.’ This is BJP’s slogan. All the corrupt people in the country are now with BJP,” Singh said.

“Modi Ji says, ‘This is Modi’s guarantee; I won’t spare a single corrupt person.’ I said, ‘Yes, Modi Ji, you’re right, this is Modi’s guarantee–he will ensure that all the corrupt from east to west, north to south, are brought into BJP. The bigger the officials, the more they end up joining BJP’,” the Rajya Sabha MP added.

Singh also accused the Modi government of allegedly aiding Prajwal Revanna, who is facing a probe after sexual assault allegations, in escaping the country.

“The Modi government allowed Prajwal Ravana to escape. He is a Member of Parliament and cannot leave the country without proper clearance, so how did he manage to flee? It’s clear that the BJP helped him escape. BJP stands with criminals and supports those who commit crimes. Similarly, they are now standing with Prajwal Ravana,” Singh added, emphasizing that the BJP stands with criminals.

HD Revanna and his son, Prajwal Revanna, who is the sitting MP and candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, are facing a probe by a Special Investigative Team (SIT), constituted by the Karnataka government, over allegations of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation following a complaint by a woman who worked in their household.

Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi spoke about the event’s significance, emphasizing the need for youth engagement in the electoral process.

“This is our modern style of campaigning, which includes a walkathon. Today, young people from all around have gathered here. The youth represent a group in our Delhi and in our entire nation that is the key to our future. The youth need to understand the importance of their vote, choose the right candidate, and send them to Parliament. Somnath Bharti from the INDIA alliance is our candidate for the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat. It’s time to end the dictatorship of the BJP government. This campaign, ‘Answer with your Vote,’ is part of our effort, and now is the time to protect our Constitution and democracy,” Oberoi said.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organized a ‘Jail ka Jawab Vote se’ walkathon event in Delhi on Sunday, demonstrating support for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his arrest in a money laundering case.

Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in connection with a money laundering probe relating to alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy 2021-22.

Key AAP leaders, including MP Sanjay Singh, Minister Gopal Rai, and Saurabh Bharadwaj, led the event, which saw significant participation from party members and supporters.

Attendees chanted slogans such as “Jail ka Jawab Vote Se,” “Arvind Kejriwal zindabad,” “Bharat Mata Ki Jay,” and “Vande Mataram” as they marched through the streets of Delhi.

The AAP leaders and supporters rallied to voice their discontent with the BJP’s handling of Kejriwal’s arrest.

Delhi, with all seven seats, is going to the polls in the sixth phase on May 25. The seven Lok Sabha constituencies in the capital are New Delhi, South Delhi, East Delhi, West Delhi, Chandni Chowk, North West and North East Delhi.

The votes will be counted on June 4. (ANI)
