Ace fashion designer Anamika Khanna has collaborated with The Gift Studio — a one-stop online gifting solution — to design and curate a limited-edition collection for the wedding season.
IANSlife speaks to Anamika and Shivika Goenka, co-founder of The Gift Studio, to know details of the collaboration and the venture: Excerpts:
How did this collaboration happen?
Anamika: Thoughtfully designed hampers are something I love, not only because they can be customised, but because they are so thoughtful, and express that extra bit of love and effort someone has put into picking products just for you! I personally feel an emotional connect when I receive something handpicked, which is why the idea of curated collections resonated with me immediately. I am delighted to associate with The Gift Studio and Shivika for a new line of limited-edition hampers, with exclusively designed packaging elements by me.
What is the whole concept of this venture?
Shivika: During the pandemic, we found that there is a white space when it comes to well-curated gifts for special occasions, especially when you’re away and want to add a personal touch. We wanted to create something that is easy to use and intuitive, so that the person ordering can do it quickly, but in a manner that the person who receives the gift thinks it is thoughtful, valuable, personalized, and unique. There’s even a gap with online websites where what you see isn’t always what you get. But with The Gift Studio we want the quality and sentiment to be all in sync.
How are you putting your design aesthetics into The Gift Studio?
Anamika: The packaging carries special designs I’ve created for this collaboration with bold prints true to my style. I have always advocated conscious living, healthy eating and turned vegan just a while ago, so while curating these hampers I was delighted to incorporate some of my personal best practices from the plethora of healthy and vegan options that were available to me. With these limited-edition gift boxes, I hope to benefit people the way I have through this healthy lifestyle change and truly hope it inspires people towards these well-being practices. I think The Gift Studio has given impetus to my idea with these perfectly done gift boxes.
Why did you decide to launch the collaboration now amid the pandemic when weddings are happening at a very small scale?
Anamika: With weddings happening on a small scale, everyone’s shifted towards more intimate affairs and customised gifting to make it a truly special, personalised celebration. Thinking of it from that perspective, be it a wedding gift, wedding favours, or gifts distributed announcing a wedding for contactless celebrations, this seems to be the best time to launch something like this because amid the pandemic one thing that has become evident is that relationships truly matter. What better way to show your love than thoughtful gifts!
How do you see the market specifically for such ventures?
Shivika: The gifting market in India is already approximately $3 billion, and growing exponentially. Despite its size, we believe it is an underserved market — especially for thoughtful curated gifts that have a strong emotional connect. We want to provide a reliable one-stop shop for all gifting needs — curated gourmet hampers, cakes, flowers, balloons, luxury chocolates, wine & cheese, and unique experiences. We aim to deliver this with a more personal touch made for each type of person and each unique relationship — in an easy-to-use and simple manner making being thoughtful effortless. We go one step further by making gifting truly unique with options such as Build Your Own Hamper from the comfort and safety of your home with a few clicks or simply choose from the curated line of gifting options.
Over and above to bring the element of luxe and differentiate ourselves we have limited edition gifting ranges with our most recent and a first of its kind collaboration with ace fashion designer Anamika Khanna where she brings in her conscious living principles to the gift and lends her artistic eye for the packaging.
