UAE President Engages World Leaders to Aid Gaza

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed the need to urgently open humanitarian corridors to transport relief aid to the Gaza Strip without obstacles…reports Asian Lite News

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan continued his intensive communications with leaders of Arab and foreign countries to stop the violence and escalation in the Gaza Strip, and to mobilise international efforts, ensure respect for international humanitarian law, and provide protection for civilians to avoid them suffering further due to the worsening situation on the ground.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed held communications with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, of Jordan, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel.

During the calls, His Highness stressed the urgency of preserving the lives of civilians and not dragging them into the cycle of escalating violence, while exercising the legal responsibility that ensures their protection and safety, especially children, women, and the elderly during conflicts, in addition to the release of hostages.

His Highness stressed the need to urgently open humanitarian corridors to transport relief aid to the Gaza Strip without obstacles, and to facilitate the mechanisms that ensure the necessary protection of those corridors while enabling the relevant humanitarian organisations to carry out their responsibilities, in order to ensure that the suffering of civilians does not worsen as a result of the escalating violence, especially in the presence of more than two million people, the vast majority of whom are innocent civilians who are not involved in the ongoing conflict.

The discussions held also stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to prevent the escalation and spread of violence, considering its serious implications for regional and international stability and peace.

The ongoing and intensive communications made by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed are part of the efforts being made by the United Arab Emirates to ensure that the situation does not further deteriorate.

UAE FM holds series of discussions

UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan has held a series of phone calls with his counterparts in different countries and discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly on the humanitarian level, and efforts to deliver humanitarian assistance to civilians affected by the repercussions of the current crisis

In a call with Jean Asselborn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, they reviewed ways to protect civilians and preserve their lives, being a top priority, in addition to the course of regional and international efforts to end extremism, tension, and escalating violence in the region.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the need for regional and international actors to work together in a unified way to safeguard the civilians in a call with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock.

The two top diplomats discussed the efforts of the international community to end the rising extremism, tension, and violence in the region.

In a telephone conversation with Malaysian Foreign Minister Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, Sheikh Abdullah addressed the security and humanitarian repercussions of the current crisis and efforts to urgently open safe corridors to deliver relief and medical aid to the civilians.

The two ministers also emphasised the significance of intensifying efforts to contain the current crisis and end extremism, tension and violence that foment instability in the region.

Sheikh Abdullah also talked to Australia’s Penny Wong and reaffirmed the importance of regional and international efforts focusing on protecting civilians and providing them with immediate humanitarian aid, in addition to intensifying efforts to end extremism, tension, and escalating violence.

Dubai’s IHC launches urgent relief airbridge

Dubai’s International Humanitarian City (IHC) announced that it has launched an urgent humanitarian airbridge operation to transport essential medical supplies and food assistance to Egypt and Lebanon.

The operation is in preparation for and in response to the growing challenges brought about by the ongoing crisis in the region.

The airbridge operation also comes in response to an immediate request for aid from the World Health Organisation (WHO), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai’s International Humanitarian City, stated: “The humanitarian airbridge has been swiftly established to transport urgently needed relief supplies to populations affected by the escalating crisis in the region. This mobilisation is a testament to the spirit of cooperation in times of conflict and dire need, as IHC leverages its vast network and resources to bolster humanitarian efforts, supporting rapid responses to humanitarian crises, improving readiness for emergencies, and ultimately, saving innocent lives.”

The initial shipment, consisting of more than 11 metric tonnes of essential supplies from WFP and UNICEF’s stockpile, including water, sanitation, hygiene, dignity kits, crucial aid materials, and essential food provisions, departed from Dubai today to El Arish in the North Sinai Governorate of Egypt.

This delivery significantly boosts healthcare response capacity through the Egyptian Red Crescent, ensuring that communities are well-equipped to address the urgent requirements resulting from the ongoing crisis. Moreover, the substantial quantity of food items will aid in alleviating the impact of food shortages on the most vulnerable.

Blinken Reassures Gaza Humanitarian Aid

The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, the only remaining outlet for supplies, has been closed for much of the past week….reports Asian Lite News

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday said Washington is “actively working” to ensure that humanitarian assistance can get into Gaza as the Hamas-Israel conflict continued for the 10th consecutive day.

In a post on X, Blinken said: “We stand with Israel as it defends itself. The United States is also actively working to ensure the people of Gaza can get out of harm’s way and the assistance they need — food, water, medicine — can get in.

“Hamas does not care if Palestinians suffer.”

Gaza is facing a critical humanitarian crisis, with shortages of water, electricity, food, fuel and medicine.

The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, the only remaining outlet for supplies, has been closed for much of the past week.

On Monday however, Israel denied reports that it had agreed to a ceasefire in southern Gaza to allow the Rafah border crossing to open to let aid into the Hamas-controlled enclave.

“At the moment there is no ceasefire for humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip and the exit of foreigners,” The Times of Israel quoted a statement issued by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyau’s office.

Earlier, reports said that Israel had agreed to halt fire from 9 a.m. in a deal agreed on with Egypt and the US.

Several Likud ministers are vehemently opposing a reported US-brokered temporary truce to allow aid into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, The Times of Israel reported.

Energy Minister Israel Katz said that he “bitterly opposes the opening of the blockade and the introduction of goods into Gaza on humanitarian grounds”.

“Our commitment is to the families of the murdered and kidnapped hostages — not to the Hamas murderers and those who helped them,” he said.

Also objecting the move, Culture Minister Miki Zohar said: “Those who massacre children, rape women and kidnap babies do not deserve any mercy.”

Meanwhile, the Hamas has also said that it did not have any information about the proposed humanitarian truce at the Rafah border crossing.

Meanwhile, tonnes of vital humanitarian supplies for people in Gaza have been piling up on the Egyptian side of the border, CNN reported.

On Sunday, Philippe Lazzarini, commissioner general of the UN Relief and Works Agency, said that Gaza is rapidly running out of water and electricity, and the population faces severe shortages of food and medicine.

“Gaza is being strangled and it seems that the world right now has lost its humanity. If we look at the issue of water — we all know water is life — Gaza is running out of water, and Gaza is running out of life,” Lazzarini said.

UN Stresses Need for Safe Delivery of Aid to Gaza

United Nations has stocks available of food, water, non-food items, medical supplies and fuel, located in Egypt, Jordan, the West Bank and Israel…reports Asian Lite News

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for rapid and unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza and for the release of hostages kept by Hamas.

“In this dramatic moment, as we are on the verge of the abyss in the Middle East, it is my duty as Secretary-General of the United Nations to make two strong humanitarian appeals,” he said on Sunday in a statement.

“To Hamas, the hostages must be immediately released without conditions; to Israel, rapid and unimpeded access for humanitarian aid must be granted for humanitarian supplies and workers for the sake of the civilians in Gaza,” he added.

“Each one of these two objectives are valid in themselves. They should not become bargaining chips,” the UN chief said.

The United Nations has stocks available of food, water, non-food items, medical supplies and fuel, located in Egypt, Jordan, the West Bank and Israel. These goods can be despatched within hours, Xinhua news agency reported.

To ensure delivery, UN staff and partners on the ground need to be able to bring these supplies into and throughout Gaza safely and without impediment to deliver to those in need, Guterres added.

Egypt to Intensify Aid Delivery Efforts to Gaza

Egypt is ready to exert any effort to achieve calm in Gaza and activate a genuine peace process, the presidency said on Sunday in a statement…reports Asian Lite News

Egypt offered to host a multilateral meeting to address the latest situation and the future of the Palestinian issue, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement.

The invitation was made after Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi held a National Security Council meeting to review regional developments, notably with regard to the military escalation in the Gaza Strip, Xinhua news agency reported.

Egypt is ready to exert any effort to achieve calm in Gaza and activate a genuine peace process, the presidency said on Sunday in a statement.

“There is no solution to the Palestinian cause except through the two-state solution,” the statement said, stressing that Egypt rejected the displacement of the people of Gaza or “attempts to pay off the Palestinian issue at the expense of neighbouring countries”.

It is stressed at the meeting that national security is a red line and that there is no compromise in its protection, it added.

Egypt will continue contact with international and regional partners “to reduce the escalation and stop the targeting of civilians,” according to the statement.

While Egypt is facing difficulties in delivering humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian enclave, it will “intensify contacts with international and regional relief organisations in order to deliver the necessary assistance,” the statement noted.

Since Thursday, the El Arish airport in Egypt’s North Sinai has received planes carrying aid supplies for the Gaza Strip from Jordan, the UAE, Turkey, Tunisia and the WHO, according to Egyptian officials and the Red Crescent.

Egypt said it has kept its side of the Rafah crossing, the only crossing point between Egypt and Gaza, open for aid delivery since the conflict broke out between Israel and Gaza-ruling Hamas on October 7.

However, according to Egyptian officials, the Israeli bombardments on the Palestinian side of the border halted the crossing’s operation.

Engaged in a US-sponsored peace treaty with neighbouring Israel since 1979, Egypt has for years been a peace mediator in the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

US Embassy Warns Gaza Residents of Limited Opening at Rafah Crossing

The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt is the only remaining outlet to get people out of the enclave and supplies into it…reports Asian Lite News

The US Embassy in Israel on Monday warned Gaza residents who were hoping to evacuate using the Rafah Crossing Point — the Hamas-controlled enclave’s border crossing with Egypt — that if the crossing opens, then it might be only for a “limited time”.

In an advisory, the embassy said that the Rafah crossing will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, citing media reports.

“We anticipate that the situation at the Rafah crossing will remain fluid and unpredictable and it is unclear whether, or for how long, travelers will be permitted to transit the crossing.

“If you assess it to be safe, you may wish to move closer to the Rafah border crossing — there may be very little notice if the crossing opens and it may only open for a limited time,” the advisory added.

On Sunday after his talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had said that “Rafah will be open”.

The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt is the only remaining outlet to get people out of the enclave and supplies into it.

But it remained closed for much of the past week.

Israel’s Pledge to Eliminate Hamas Amid Gaza Conflict

In a CBS News interview which aired on Sunday, the President said “it would be a mistake for Israel to occupy Gaza again”, but also noted that it was a “necessary requirement” to remove the “extremists”…reports Asian Lite News

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan said his country “has no interest” in occupying Gaza but will do “whatever is needed” to eliminate the Palestinian Hamas militant group which controls the densely-populated coastal enclave.

His remarks on Sunday during a CNN interview came just hours after US President Joe Biden warned Israel against occupying the enclave as the Jewish nation signaled that it is preparing for a ground invasion amid the ongoing war with the Hamas.

In response, Erdan said: “We have no interest to occupy Gaza or to stay in Gaza, but since we are fighting for our survival and the only way, as the President (Biden) himself defined is to obliterate Hamas, so we will have to do whatever is needed to obliterate their capabilities.”

When asked who should rule the Gaza Strip if Israel does remove Hamas, Erdan said his country was “not thinking about what will happen a day after the war”.

In a CBS News interview which aired on Sunday, the President said “it would be a mistake for Israel to occupy Gaza again”, but also noted that it was a “necessary requirement” to remove the “extremists”.

When asked if Hamas should be “eliminated entirely”, Biden replied: “Yes I do.”

He went on to say that “there needs to be a Palestinian authority, there needs to be a path to a Palestinian state”.

Also speaking to CNN on Sunday, Michael Herzog, the Israeli Ambassador to the US, echoed Erdan’s remarks and said that Israel does not intend to occupy Gaza after and when the conflict ends.

“We have no desire to occupy or reoccupy Gaza. We have no desire to rule over the lives of more than 2 million Palestinians,” Herzog said.

OIC Meet To Discuss Gaza

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation will hold an emergency meeting in Jeddah on Wednesday to discuss the violence in Gaza…reports Asian Lite News

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation will hold an emergency meeting in Jeddah on Wednesday to discuss the violence in Gaza.

Saudi Arabia, which is chairman of the Islamic Summit at its current session and chairman of the OIC’s executive committee, called for the “open-ended” ministerial meeting to discuss the military escalation in Gaza and its surroundings, and the worsening situation that threatens civilians and regional security and stability.

Meanwhile, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, at Qasr Al Shati. During their meeting, they discussed the utmost priority of ensuring complete protection for civilian lives and emphasised the urgent need to open humanitarian corridors to facilitate the delivery of medical and relief aid to the Gaza Strip, in addition to an immediate cessation of hostilities.

The meeting addressed the need to intensify regional and international diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation, violence, and crises in the region in light of the impact of serious developments.

The two sides discussed the importance of actively pursuing a clear political vision to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that strengthens regional security and stability. In this regard, they reiterated their joint commitment to enhancing stability and prosperity in the Middle East.

During the meeting, His Highness the President and the US Secretary of State also reviewed the strategic cooperation and joint efforts between the UAE and US and ways to develop ties in various fields to serve common interests.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President; Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States; in addition to the accompanying delegation of the US Secretary of State.

Tarahum – for Gaza

The UAE has launched a campaign to provide relief aid to the Palestinian people impacted by the war in the Gaza Strip, under the theme ‘Tarahum – for Gaza’.

The campaign will establish centers to collect and mobilize humanitarian relief packages in partnership with humanitarian and charitable institutions, volunteer centers, the private sector, media and all segments of society. As part of the humanitarian efforts undertaken by the UAE to provide urgent assistance to the Palestinian people, the relief campaign is in cooperation with the World Food Program, and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Community Development.

Moreover, in solidarity with the Palestinian children and families affected by the ongoing conflict, the ‘Tarahum – for Gaza’ campaign aims to mitigate the severity of the humanitarian conditions, and alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable groups, especially children, who constitute nearly half of the population of the Gaza Strip. More than one million children are affected by the current conflict, and the campaign will work towards providing children and mothers with basic needs, in addition to health supplies and general hygiene materials.

The campaign will be inaugurated today in Abu Dhabi, under the supervision of the Emirates Red Crescent in Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal at Zayed Port from 9 am – 4 pm, and will be organized across the rest of the Emirates at a later date.

Meeting in Doha

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Qatar and agreed to cooperate for “fully achieving” the goals of Hamas and the Palestinian people. During the meeting, the two agreed to “continue cooperation to fully achieve the goals of Hamas and the Palestinian people,” The Jerusalem Post reported citing a press release by Hamas.

Haniyeh stated that “what comes after this battle is a new history that will not be at all the same as it was before it.”

Earlier, Iran’s Supreme leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei claimed that Israel’s “Zionist regime” has “suffered an irrevocable defeat both in terms of military and intelligence,” Iranian News Agency Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.

The Iranian leader however said that Tehran was not involved in the Saturday attack by Hamas on Israel.

In another development, the US sent a second aircraft carrier strike group to the eastern Mediterranean to deter the “hostile actions” against Israel or any efforts toward widening this war following Hamas’s attack on Israel, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin said.

The Strike Group includes the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58), guided-missile destroyers USS Gravely (DDG 107) and USS Mason (DDG 87), and Carrier Air Wing 3, with nine aircraft squadrons, and embarked headquarters staffs.

The Eisenhower CSG will join the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group, which arrived earlier this week. The Ford CSG includes the USS Normandy, USS Thomas Hudner, USS Ramage, USS Carney, and USS Roosevelt, the statement added.

Earlier in the week, the US Air Force announced the deployment of squadrons of F-15, F-16 and A-10 fighter aircraft to the region.

“The increases to US force posture signal the United States’ ironclad commitment to Israel’s security and our resolve to deter any state or non-state actor seeking to escalate this war,” Austin stated.

According to the US Navy, the strike group is scheduled to deploy to the US European Command area of responsibility where it will engage with allies and partners in support of maritime statecraft, which encompasses naval diplomacy and national efforts to build comprehensive US and allied maritime power.

“Each entity that comprises IKECSG has worked exceptionally hard over the last several months, and we are ready to bring maritime power in support of any tasking,” said Rear Admiral Marc Miguez, commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 2, IKECSG, adding, “Our presence will undoubtedly strengthen relationships with our allies and partners, as we share the goal to deter aggression, and if required, deliver overwhelming combat power.”

Meanwhile, Lloyd Austin was the second high-level US official sent by President Joe Biden to visit Israel in two days amid the Israel-Hamas war.

He stated that the US will continue to coordinate with Israel to help secure the release of hostages from the clutches of Hamas, including American citizens.

Earlier on Thursday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Israel and met PM Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog.

Blinken emphasized the importance of preventing any further fronts in the ongoing conflict and warned against any attempts by state or non-state actors to exploit the situation.

Israeli airstrikes hit northern Gaza as Palestinians try to leave

Israel has vowed to obliterate the Hamas militant group after its fighters broke through the hi-tech fence surrounding the strip and went on a murderous rampage…reports Asian Lite News

Thousands of Palestinians have continued to leave northern Gaza and cram into already crowded schools, homes and makeshift shelters in the south, as Israeli airstrikes pound the blockaded strip ahead of an expected ground invasion, media reports said.

Foreign citizens may also be allowed to leave the enclave under a deal agreed by Egypt, Israel and the United States, senior Egyptian and US officials said.

About 2.3 million Palestinians are trapped in Gaza, facing a terrifying escalation of bloodshed and misery, after Israel sealed all crossings into its territory and Egypt reinforced it border crossing, saying it would not allow refugees to enter, The Guardian reported.

Food, fuel and water supplies were dwindling fast on Saturday after Israel cut all movement in and out of Gaza. The death toll from airstrikes, already at unprecedented levels, had reached more than 2,200. That included 724 children and 458 women, the Gaza Health Ministry said.

Israel has vowed to obliterate the Hamas militant group after its fighters broke through the hi-tech fence surrounding the strip and went on a murderous rampage.

Many residents cannot find transport, or cannot travel because they are old, sick, disabled, caring for someone with limited mobility or fear they have nowhere to go. Gaza is already one of the world’s most densely populated places, with 2.3 million people living in a 365sq km area, The Guardian reported.

Palestinians and some regional officials have said they fear Israel’s ultimate aim is not only to destroy Hamas, but to push Palestinian people out of Gaza. This would mirror the Nakba, the Arabic term for the forcible expulsion of about 750,000 Palestinians from what was previously British mandate-controlled Palestine during the creation of Israel in 1948.

King Abdullah of Jordan, which is next to the occupied West Bank, has warned “against any attempt to forcibly displace Palestinians from all Palestinian territories or cause their internal displacement”.

Scottish first minister says he feels helpless, powerless

Elizabeth and Maged El-Nakla had traveled to Gaza last week to visit Maged’s 93-year-old mother….reports Asian Lite News

Scotland’s first minister said he feels “helpless and powerless” to save his parents-in-law who are trapped in Gaza amid fears of a massive Israeli ground invasion.

In an interview with Channel 4, Humza Yousaf broke down in tears as he described the “suffering” of his in-laws, who are sheltering near Gaza City.

Elizabeth and Maged El-Nakla had traveled to Gaza last week to visit Maged’s 93-year-old mother.

Yousaf told Channel 4: “I’ll be honest. I may be first minister of Scotland, but in this situation I feel powerless. I can raise my voice, I can tell the story, but beyond that, I’m watching my mother-in-law and my father-in-law suffer.

“And anybody knows, any human being, your first instinct is to protect your family as best you possibly can, and we feel helpless.”

He added: “In my heart of hearts, I can’t tell you whether my mother-in-law will be back or not. And that’s tough for me and incredibly distressing for my wife.”

Yousaf’s wife Nadia El-Nakla told the BBC that her parents are “now caught up in a war situation,” adding: “My mother says that there’s continual bombardment from land, sea and air.”

Elizabeth “has not slept since Monday” and feels as if “every part of her body is shaking,” Nadia said, adding that her parents “are just terrified, absolutely terrified, about what’s to come and what’s happening right now as we speak.”

Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have reduced the homes of her aunt and cousin to rubble. Yousaf on said Israel is “going too far” in its conflict with Hamas, warning that innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip “couldn’t be used as collateral damage.”

He called for the international community to “step up” its efforts to ensure a ceasefire in Gaza, and for the establishment of a humanitarian corridor to allow supplies into the enclave and to allow people to leave.

“There’s a humanitarian catastrophe that’s unfolding, and the collective punishment of 2.2 million Gazans just can’t be justified,” he said.

This week, Yousaf wrote a letter to UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly asking him to request the Israeli government to allow civilians to flee through the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt.

Putin calls full siege of Gaza unacceptable

Putin also went on to mention the Palestinian demand for an independent state and said that they were promised that and have the right to expect to get delivered….reports Asian Lite News

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday said that Israel’s decision to siege the whole region of Gaza is “unacceptable” and claimed that the whole population of Gaza does not support Hamas.

“Israel is responding on a large scale and using pretty cruel methods. Harsh. Of course, we understand the logic of what is going on, but despite all the ferocity on both sides, despite all the remorseless we need to think about the civilian population,” he said.

President Putin added, “Some say that there may be military and normal military measures taken against the Gaza sector. Similar to the blockade of Leningrad during World War Two, we understand where that goes and this is unacceptable there. Two plus million people there and not all of them support Hamas.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the Israel-Gaza escalation during the press conference after the CIS summit meeting in Kyrgyzstan, Russian Tass reported.

Putin also went on to mention the Palestinian demand for an independent state and said that they were promised that and have the right to expect to get delivered.

He said, “Palestine was promised that there will be an independent Palestinian state for the capital city in East Jerusalem and UN level decisions were made and they have the right to expect this to be delivered upon and there are lots of people there who have nothing to do with the current situation.”

On being asked if Russia can play the role of a mediator between Israel and Hamas, the Russian President highlighted that his country has good relations with Israel and Palestine and assured support in resolving the issue.

He added, “I think Russia can help with this. Over the last 15 years or so we have had good relationships with Israel. We have good relationships with Palestine and nobody can suspect us in trying to play an unfair game. Of course, if anybody needs our effort.”

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said he has ordered a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip.

“I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip. There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed,” Gallant said.

Meanwhile, In retaliatory strike against Hamas terror attacks in Israel, Israeli soldiers, their tanks and munitions have been deployed near the Gaza border as they prepare for a full ground offensive against Hamas.

In visuals coming in from the Gaza border, tanks can be seen firing shells towards the Gaza Strip. Moreover, soldiers are seen loading artillery shells into howitzers.

Adding to this, Israeli infantry troops have been moving closer to the Gaza border in anticipation of a full ground offensive on Hamas.
