Vistara launches Mumbai-Abu Dhabi daily flights

The inaugural flight will depart from Mumbai at 1910 Hours (IST) and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 2040 Hours (GST)

Vistara, India’s full-service carrier and a joint venture of Tata group and Singapore Airlines, inaugurated non-stop, daily flights between Mumbai (India) and Abu Dhabi (UAE).

The inaugural flight will depart from Mumbai at 1910 Hours (IST) and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 2040 Hours (GST), making Vistara the first-ever carrier to offer the choice of Premium Economy class on the route, in addition to Business and Economy class.

Commenting on the start of the new international route, Mr. Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, said, “We have been steadily strengthening our presence in the UAE and the rest of the Gulf region, and are excited to add Abu Dhabi to our growing international network. UAE’s flourishing business, trade, and tourism make Abu Dhabi a perfect fit in our network. We are confident that travellers will appreciate the choice of flying India and South Asia’s best airline on this route.“

Vistara is India’s highest-rated airline on Skytrax and TripAdvisor, and it has been the winner of several ‘Best Airline’ awards, besides being lauded for world-class cabin cleanliness and upholding high safety standards.

The airline has recently been recognised as the ‘Best Airline in India and South Asia’ for the second time in a row, ‘Best Airline Staff Service in India and South Asia’ for the fourth consecutive year, ‘Best Cabin Crew in India and South Asia’ for the second time in a row and ‘Best Business Class in India and South Asia’ at the coveted Skytrax World Airline Awards 2022.

In a short span of over seven years since starting operations, Vistara has recently crossed the milestone of flying 35 million passengers.

MBZ receives Modi’s letter on boosting ties

Jaishankar conveyed the Modi’s greetings to Sheikh Mohamed and his wishes for further progress and prosperity for the UAE and its people, reports Shaneer N. Siddiqui

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a letter from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding strengthening the strategic relations between the two countries and the prospects of developing them to serve their common interests.

Sheikh Mohamed received the letter during a meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who is currently on a visit to the United Arab Emirate to attend the meetings of the 14th session of the UAE-India Joint Committee and the third session of the UAE-India Strategic Dialogue.

At the beginning of Friday’s meeting, which took place at the Al Shati Palace, Jaishankar conveyed the Modi’s greetings to Sheikh Mohamed and his wishes for further progress and prosperity for the UAE and its people.

For his part, the UAE President conveyed his greetings to the Prime Minister, wishing India and its people further development and prosperity.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed various aspects of their bilateral relations and the importance of cooperating to enhance and advance them within the framework of their comprehensive strategic partnership and the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), in addition to a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs; Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; and Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President.

The delegation accompanying Jaishankar was also present.

On the same day, Sheikh Abdullah chaired the third session of the UAE-India Strategic Dialogue, which was held in Abu Dhabi.

The Indian side was headed by Jaishankar.

During the session, the two sides discussed issues of common interest and prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation, in line with the CEPA.

They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

India-UAE close partnership will scale new heights: Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday met Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and expressed confidence that close partnership between India and UAE will scale new heights in the years to come.

Jaishankar is in Abu Dhabi to attend the 5th Indian Ocean Conference being held on December 4-5. Taking to twitter, Jaishankar posted separate tweets about his meeting with Crown Prince Al Nahyan and UAE’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abudullah bin Zayed.

“Thank HH@MohamedBinZayed for receiving me today. Conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister@narendramodi on the Golden Jubilee of UAE,” Jaishankar tweeted.

“Confident that our close partnership will scale new heights in the years to come,” he said.

EAM Jaishankar had a warm meeting with his UAE counterpart and noted the steady progress in India-UAE bilateral cooperation.

“A warm meeting with UAE FM @ABZayed in Abu Dhabi. Noted the steady progress in our bilateral cooperation. As always, his insights on global and regional developments were of great value,” he stated in the tweet.

Jaishankar’s meeting with UAE’s top leadership comes ahead of the third round of the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) negotiations that are scheduled to be held in New Delhi from Monday, with both sides keen to conclude the negotiations.

In September, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal and Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade formally launched negotiations on the India-UEA CEPA.

According to India-UAE Joint Press on the launch of negotiations, the high-level delegation had travelled to New Delhi to hold talks aimed at improving bilateral economic relations, including expanding the existing trade and investment relationship.
