Upon arriving at the Kabul airport on Saturday, Abdullah told reporters that he travelled to India to visit his family, TOLO News reported.

“I hope all Afghans live in a just, calm and good environment in the country,” he said and called on the officials of the “caretaker government” to pay efforts in this regard.

When he left for India on May 4, the former official had tweeted: “As I leave the country for a few days to be with family during Eid-ul Fitr.

“I want to offer prayers for the souls of all martyrs who fell victim to terror, while I wish my compatriots Eid mubarak as we end this Holy season. Our country, men & women, need to come together.”

During his visit, the former Chairman met with officials from the US and France, Khaama News reported.
