‘Vh1 Supersonic’ Cancelled

The popular music festival has been cancelled next year owing to the pandemic, it was announced On Monday. The organisers plan to bring back the music gala in 2022.

“Rather than present a diluted version of the festival we love, which would also put fans at risk, we feel we have no other option but to cancel the 2021 edition. However, ‘Be There, Be Free’ continues to embody the spirit of the festival and we will look to the future, knowing we have to make up for lost ground and create a larger than life fiesta next time around, at India’s most-loved multi-genre music festival,” said Nikhil Chinapa, festival curator.

Postponing th festival next year has become necessary. “As we were preparing to unite our SuperFam for an electrifying eighth edition of Vh1 Supersonic, we’ve had to stop and take stock of where the world stands with respect to Covid 19. Several countries are going into a second lockdown, international air travel is restricted and there is still no news of when a viable vaccine will be available to the public,” Chinapa explained.

“Our decision to cancel the festival in 2021 and push it to 2022 has come due to the global uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic. Our primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of our festival-goers and taking that into consideration, we have decided to cancel the 2021 edition. In the meantime, we are leaving you all with the promise that we will be back bigger and better in 2022,” said Mahesh Shetty of Viacom18.

The seventh edition was held in February this year before the spread of the virus crisis. The line-up included names like Prateek Kuhad, American DJ-record producer Diplo, American rapper Machine Gun Kelly, American musician Illenium and popular rock band Chon.

The news of the cancellation of the next edition comes after Sunburn Goa 2020 was called off last week.

Elisabeth Feels Her Career Path As Pretty Great

Actress Elisabeth Moss says she has a ridiculous job but then makes a point by calling her chosen career path as “pretty great”.

“My job is pretty great. I have these scripts that are written and I get to pretend and I get to imagine. It’s a ridiculous job and I make money at it and I feel invigorated by it.

“I’ve just never felt that it was a dark place, I’ve always felt that it was a light place,” Moss told independent.co.uk, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The actress says her characters can help people.

Citing an example of her role in “The Invisible Man”, where she essays a woman escaping an abusive partner, Moss said: “I would have friends who I didn’t know had gone through an experience like that say to me that it was cathartic to watch.

The actress added: “I think we all have experiences where we feel like we were gaslit or taken advantage of or told that we were crazy for thinking or feeling something. That story of abuse is not something that has arisen in the last five years. It’s not a bandwagon anyone can jump on – it’s a tale as old as time.”

Moss calls herself a loner.

“I’m very much a loner. Lockdown for me was kind of a breeze because I have no problem staying at home for long, long periods of time, and I have no problem not seeing anybody. And I also bury myself in my work,” she said.

Justin Bieber Wants To Inspire And Entertain People

Pop star Justin Bieber says lockdown strengthened his marriage with model Hailey.

In a preview of “Justin Bieber: Next Chapter”, his new YouTube Originals documentary, the 26-year-old pop star has admitted to having more “confidence” in his romance with Hailey, saying that the pandemic has allowed them to spend quality time together and to focus on their relationship, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“Tour’s cancelled and I had to adapt to that. It allowed us to take a step back and focus on each other. That was a beautiful thing. And that turned into working on an album,” he said.

In the preview, the singer also discussed the ambitions he has for his music. “I want to make content that will inspire and make people happy. It’s growth and it’s hope,” he shared.

The upcoming YouTube documentary comes after “Justin Bieber: Seasons”, which followed the singer as he worked towards releasing his “Changes” album.

Model Hailey Bieber and singer Justin Bieber are celebrating their one-year anniversary as Mr and Mrs, but they continue to deal with critics and haters who question their marriage.

Madame Feels Empowered To Begin 2021

Madame Gandhi

American percussionist-producer-activist Madame Gandhi says that during the last few months of lockdown, she focused on mental and physical health. Now, she feels empowered to begin 2021 on a strong note.

Talking about her quarantine time, the artiste, who has roots in India, told IANS: “I have been focusing on my mental and physical health. I have been boxing, running, doing yoga, and increasing my commitment to my meditation practice. These moments, to rehabilitate all aspects of my body and soul, have made me feel empowered to tee off a strong 2021 with the new music that is to come.”

On how different her upcoming album “Vibrations” will be from her previous ones — “Voices” and “Visions” — she shared: “This album is a lot more focused on love. It is introspective and more vulnerable. It is expansive and celebrates wellness. It still has the uplifting, percussive feelings of the past two albums, but definitely feels more produced and takes more risk.”

The artiste, born Kiran Gandhi, recently released a new collection of remixes of her 2019 “Visions” track, “Young Indian”.

“I love performing my song ‘Young Indian’ live, but the song in its original format does not lend itself as well to deejaying. Therefore, I knew that I wanted to host a competition where I could have producers help me re-purpose the song into genres that are more appropriate for the dance floor,” she said.

“As a result of this competition, we walked away with Bhangra, Salsa, Reggaeton and Afro beat remixes that now even the fitness community can work out to,” she added.

Earlier this year, she had joined media mogul Oprah Winfrey on her 2020 Vision Stadium tour. It was a learning experience for Gandhi.

Madame Gandhi: Have felt quieted because I identify as female.

“I learned that the world needs us to each truly shine at our brightest potential. When each of us are living in alignment with our path, not only do we feel a sense of contentment, but we are able to show up in service of others,” she said.

Gandhi is also an activist, who had run the London Marathon bleeding freely on her period in 2015. It had sparked a global conversation about how people treat menstruation in various cultures. Female empowerment is naturally important for her.

If one looks at social media, people will find female artistes being pitted against each other by fans. Asked if that bothers her, she said: “Yes. This is a toxic byproduct of the capitalist and patriarchal system that we globally operate within.”

“As a radical response, I believe sisterhood and mutual support is the most powerful way to combat that.”

Ileana Starts To Love Flaws

Ileana D’Cruz

Actress Ileana DCruz has made a candid confession on social media, with a monochrome picture she posted on Instagram where she strikes a pose in bikini…reports Asian Lite News.

Alongside the image, she wrote: “I’ve always worried about how I looked. I’ve worried my hips are too wide, my thighs too wobbly, my waist not narrow enough, my tummy not flat enough, my boobs not big enough, my butt too big, my arms too jiggly, nose not straight enough, lips not full enough… I’ve worried that I’m not tall enough, not pretty enough, not funny enough, not smart enough, not ‘perfect’ enough.”

She tagged herself as “beautifully flawed”.

“Not realising I was never meant to be perfect. I was meant to be beautifully flawed. Different. Quirky. Unique. Every scar, every bump, every ‘flaw’ just made me, me. My own kind of beautiful,” she said.

Ileana said that she has stopped trying to fit in.

Ileana D’Cruz professes self love

“That’s why I’ve stopped. Stopped trying to conform to the world’s ideals of what’s meant to be beautiful. I’ve stopped trying so hard to fit in. Why should I?? When I was born to stand out,” she said.

This is not the first time Ileana has spoken about self-love. Recently, she urged everyone to make themselves their priority number one.

Ileana was last seen on screen in the 2019 multistarrer “Pagalpanti”, directed by Anees Bazmee.

She will next be seen in Ajay Devgn’s production, “The Big Bull”, a film reportedly based on India’s biggest securities scam of 1992. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan.
