Prince Harry gets warning from King Charles

Royal author Phil Dampier was not surprised at King Charles’ forgiving attitude, saying, “I am sure it is right that Charles will go to great lengths to maintain a relationship with Harry but there is a limit…reports Asian Lite News

King Charles III hopes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will eventually “run out of ammunition” and there will be a chance to rebuild the relationship, a report said.

“The King is a father who loves his son and like any parent is frustrated and worried that his two children have such a difficult relationship,” the Daily Express reported saying that the monarch is determined not to cut Prince Harry off and believes there may still be a way back for the Sussexes.

“The Royal Family is dreading this [Netflix] documentary but hope that once Harry and Meghan have said their piece, they can draw a line under it and move on. It is a very distressing time all round. We certainly hope grievances can be resolved and who knows where that might leave us?,” the report said.

Royal author Phil Dampier was not surprised at King Charles’ forgiving attitude, saying, “I am sure it is right that Charles will go to great lengths to maintain a relationship with Harry but there is a limit. King Charles would pretty much forgive Harry anything – except dragging Camilla through the mud. If Harry’s account of his parents’ divorce is too critical of Camilla, or places too much blame at Charles’s door while painting his mother as a saint, that will be the point of no return.”

“At that point what sanctions are on offer? What choice do they have but to say, ‘OK, you’ve crossed a line here and there is no way back. It’s time to go your own way, but not as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’.”

He wrote: “I see we have entered the predictable turn-the-victim-into-the-villain phase of the story. The gymnastics and lying some people are doing to excuse the racism of a woman they haven’t met is wild. No wonder so many who experience racism or bigotry keep it to themselves. Shameful.”

Markle, Prince Harry ‘uninvited’ to funeral reception

This is not the first ‘mix up’ with Prince Harry in the last few days since the death of Queen Elizabeth…reports Asian Lite News

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have reportedly been ‘uninvited’ to the state reception hosted at Buckingham Palace before Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. A new report has claimed that there has been a mix up with the invitations for the event for the couple, leaving them ‘baffled’.

Prince Harry is the grandson of the late queen, the younger son of her son and the new King Charles III. Meghan, a former actor known for her role in Suits, has been married to Harry since 2018. The two are known to have a fraught relationship with the British royal family. In 2020, they stepped down from their positions as royals and relocated to California.

A new report by The Telegraph says that Meghan and Harry “appear to have been uninvited to the state reception at Buckingham Palace” hosted by King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla on Sunday evening. The report adds that “it remains unclear why they had received an invitation for an occasion that Royal aides insisted they were not expected to attend”. The report quoted sources close to Meghan saying the couple was ‘baffled’ by the mix up.

This is not the first ‘mix up’ with Prince Harry in the last few days since the death of Queen Elizabeth. It was reported recently that Harry had been told he couldn’t wear his military uniform at the queen’s final vigil. In the end, King Charles intervened, giving Harry permission to wear his uniform, along with his older brother Prince William. In a statement, Buckingham Palace said “at the King’s request, they will both be in uniform”.

Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, died on September 8 at the age of 96. She was Queen of the United Kingdom for over 70 years, ascending to the throne after her father King George VI’s death in 1952.

Royal strain between William and Harry

As William has turned 40, the elder brother has embraced the royal establishment and taken on more duties, while the younger “spare” prince, aged 37, has rejected traditions for a life in California…reports Asian Lite News

A quarter-century on from the death of their mother, Princess Diana, Princes William and Harry are struggling to maintain their once-close relationship.

“Harry and Wills are barely on speaking terms after Megxit,” The Sun tabloid reported this month, referring to Harry and wife Meghan Markle’s decision to quit frontline royal roles in 2020 and move to the United States.

As William has turned 40, the elder brother has embraced the royal establishment and taken on more duties, while the younger “spare” prince, aged 37, has rejected traditions for a life in California.

“I suspect… that rift is very deep,” royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail.

Things used to be so different.

After Diana died from car crash injuries at 36, the boys touched the world walking behind her coffin. William was 15 while Harry was just 12.

Both attended Eton boarding school and Harry pursued military training, while William went to university.

They appeared to share a close bond as William married long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton in 2011 and started a family.

“This idyllic sort of brotherly relationship that they projected… did much to put the monarchy back on track,” royal historian and author Ed Owens said.

But following Harry’s 2018 marriage to Meghan, relations have become strained.

He told a 2019 interview that he and his brother were “on different paths”. A year later, Harry and Meghan sensationally announced their move to the US.

The couple’s subsequent explosive Oprah Winfrey interview in March 2021 saw Meghan publicly claim Kate had made her cry.

The most damaging claim, however, was that an unnamed royal had speculated about the skin colour of mixed-race Meghan’s future child.

William reacted later by telling a journalist that the royals were “very much not” a racist family.

No interaction

Both brothers have an enduring dislike for Britain’s tabloid press after their mother’s death.

Harry told Winfrey he left the UK to prevent “history repeating itself”, likening Meghan’s treatment by reporters and photographers to Diana’s hounding.

But their shared disdain for large parts of the media has done little to unite them during their current estrangement.

They appeared to barely speak to each other as they jointly unveiled a statue of their mother outside Kensington Palace in July 2021.

During Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022, they sat far apart at a church service.

The Daily Telegraph wrote that “there has been no interaction whatsoever”, citing William’s grievances over the Oprah interview.

Harry and Meghan are set to visit the UK again in September — just three months since their last visit — when they will stay on the queen’s Windsor estate, close to William’s new family home there.

But British newspapers say there are no plans for the brothers to meet.

Former royal correspondent Robert Hardman raised the possibility of reconciliation, however.

“Obviously they are estranged but they are brothers, this is a family,” the author of this year’s “Queen of Our Times: The Life of Queen Elizabeth II” said.

He praised Harry and Meghan’s “dignified role” when they came back to Britain for the Jubilee and visited the queen.

“To me, that looks like a move towards semi-regular trips back to the UK,” he said.

“And each time that happens, things just gradually become less fraught.”

‘Anxiety’ at memoir

Much could still depend on a ghost-written memoir from Harry, set for publication later this year.

The Telegraph reported that this is “causing some anxiety” among royals who fear it could be used “to settle scores and make further sensational claims”.

“The book is going to be very explosive,” said Hardman.

“I expect it to be extremely harsh on the media, fairly harsh on the palace establishment.

“I’d be very surprised if he starts making family relations any worse,” he added, in contrast to much of the speculation.

Another royal expert, Phil Dampier, is more pessimistic.

“I can’t see any chance of a reconciliation between the #Sussexes and the #Cambridges until Harry’s book is out of the way. And it’s likely to make things worse!” he tweeted.

Opinions differ on whether the royal family need Harry.

“No one person is bigger than the institution, so the monarchy will carry on with or without them. They’re not essential,” Hardman said of Harry and Meghan.

But Owens argued Harry’s exit has “deprived the monarchy of one of its saviours… the informal royal” who is “more down to earth, much more tactile”.

“I do think at a certain point, they’re going to need Harry back,” royal author Tina Brown told The Guardian, calling him “an asset” who could relieve pressure on William and Kate.

Donald Trump Says Queen Elizabeth Should Strip Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Of All Royal Titles…reports Asian Lite News

US President Donald Trump has said that UK’s Queen Elizabeth should strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of all their royal titles. In an interview with television host Piers Morgan, which will air on Monday, Trump took aim at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and accused Prince Harry of being “so disrespectful to the country”.

According to a clip shared by Piers Morgan on Twitter, Trump called the Duke an “embarrassment”, adding that the Queen should ban him from even visiting her in Britain and tell him “Frankly, don’t come around”. When asked by the former Good Morning Britain host if he would strip the couple of their royal titles, Trump said, “I would”.

According to HuffPost, Trump, in the same interview, even went on to say that Prince Harry is “whipped like no person I think I’ve ever seen”. He said that he is not a fan of Meghan as well, adding, “I think poor Harry is being led around by his nose.”

Trump said he believes that Prince Harry would get bored of being “bossed around” or Meghan Markle would start linking “some other guy better”, the HuffPost report further said. In the video posted by Morgan, the former US President predicted that Prince Harry’s marriage to Meghan Markle will “end bad”. He suggested that the Duke of Sussex might return to royal life on “his hands and knees”.

He suggested that the Duke of Sussex might return to royal life on “his hands and knees”.

“I’ve been a very good predictor, as you know. I predicted almost everything. It’ll end and it’ll end bad,” Trump told Morgan.

It is to mention that the full segment of “Piers Morgan Uncensored” is scheduled to air on the Fox Nation streaming service. But it has already grabbed headlines after Morgan said that the former US President walked out of the interview when he confronted him on his election lies. Prince Harry, Markle visit Queen

His non-attendance followed a disagreement with the government over security protection…reports Asian Lite News

Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, had a face-to-face meeting with Queen Elizabeth on Thursday, his spokesperson said after The Sun newspaper reported the visit.

The spokesperson said the couple stopped by the United Kingdom on their way to The Hague to attend The Invictus Games, adding that Harry had previously said he hoped to see his grandmother.

The Sun said Harry and Meghan also saw Prince Charles during a visit to Windsor Castle, which it said was their first joint trip to Britain since they quit royal duties in March 2020.

Harry, who moved to the United States with Meghan, did not attend last month’s memorial service for his grandfather, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April last year.

His non-attendance followed a disagreement with the government over security protection.

The queen, who turns 96 later this month, has been suffering from mobility problems and did not attend the annual Maundy service at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel on Thursday. She will also not attend an Easter Sunday service at Windsor.

Prince Harry files court claim over police protection

The claim to a judicial review was filed in September to challenge the British government’s decision-making behind the security procedures…reports Asian Lite News

Prince Harry has filed a claim for a judicial review against the British government’s decision not to let him personally pay for police protection while in the U.K.

The Duke of Sussex’s legal representative said Saturday that Harry wants to bring his children Archie and Lilibet to visit his home country from the U.S. but that is too risky without police protection.

The representative said Harry wanted to fund the police protection himself. His private security team in the U.S. doesn’t have adequate jurisdiction abroad or access to U.K. intelligence information, they said.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex personally fund a private security team for their family, yet that security cannot replicate the necessary police protection needed whilst in the U.K.,” a statement said.

“In the absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to his home.”

The claim to a judicial review was filed in September to challenge the British government’s decision-making behind the security procedures.

Harry and his wife Meghan lost publicly funded police protection in the U.K. when they stepped down as senior working royals and moved to North America in 2020. The couple said their decision was due to what they described as unbearable intrusions and racist attitudes of the British media.

The couple first went to Canada before settling in the United States. They stated that they privately funded security for their move to the U.S. after then President Donald Trump said his government wouldn’t pay for their protection.

The statement said Harry’s security was “compromised due to the absence of police protection” during a short visit to the U.K. in July, when his car was chased by photographers as he left a charity event.

Harry and Meghan’s 7-month-old daughter Lilibet has yet to meet her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and other members of the royal family.

The statement said Harry first offered to personally pay for U.K. police protection for himself and his family in January 2020, during talks with the queen over the Sussexes’ future. The offer was “dismissed,” the statement said.

“The goal for Prince Harry has been simple – to ensure the safety of himself and his family while in the UK so his children can know his home country,” it said. “The UK will always be Prince Harry’s home and a country he wants his wife and children to be safe in.”

Britain’s government said its security system is “rigorous and proportionate” and declined to comment on details. It also said it was inappropriate to comment on any legal proceedings.

Prince Harry files complaint against newspaper publisher

Associated Newspapers, publishers of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, declined to comment…reports Asian Lite News

Prince Harry is suing Associated Newspapers, one of Britain’s biggest newspaper publishers, according to his spokesperson, months after his wife successfully won a privacy claim against them for printing extracts of a letter she wrote to her father.

Harry’s spokesperson provided no details about which of the titles are being sued or why.

Associated Newspapers, publishers of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, declined to comment.

Harry and his wife Meghan, formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, moved to California two years to lead a more independent life. Harry has previously said he stepped back from his royal duties because the “toxic” British press had been destroying his mental health.

Meghan won a claim against the Mail on Sunday last year after it printed extracts of a handwritten letter she wrote to her estranged father in 2018.
