Aster DM, Fujifilm to Revolutionise Healthcare with AI

Aster DM Healthcare, a prominent integrated healthcare provider in GCC and India, has formed a strategic alliance with Fujifilm, a worldwide leader in healthcare solutions. This collaboration aims to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enhanced diagnostics, imaging, and radiology solutions in the GCC region.

The first phase of the partnership   was formalized through a signing ceremony attended by the leadership team from Aster DM Healthcare, Fujifilm and One Health.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare, stated, “Aster is committed to embracing technological innovations that enhance patient care. This transformative collaboration brings in a new era in healthcare by revolutionizing the diagnostic radiology capabilities across Aster DM Healthcare facilities, with Medcare Royal Hospital set to receive the initial rollout, followed by other Aster and Medcare hospitals in the region. These latest AI-empowered technologies from Fujifilm are aimed at providing accurate and fast diagnostics at the highest standard of patient comfort and safety, while equipping doctors and medical professionals with the accurate information required to provide the best treatment.

These systems add capacity to Aster’s MRI services like advanced Cardiac MR, making MR examination shorter with the latest fast imaging techniques and CT scan will be more patient-friendly with the latest low dose techniques. Mammogram studies will be more comprehensive with the latest Contrast-Enhanced Digital Mammography, Tomosynthesis and Stereotactic Biopsy, etc.

All systems have been equipped with cutting-edge ecologically friendly technology, such as Zero Boil Off Helium Technology for the preservation of helium and Smart Eco feature to minimize electrical power consumption, in accordance with Fujifilm and Aster DM Healthcare’s overarching environmental sustainability goals.

Aster DM Healthcare opens Medcare Royal Hospital in Al Qusais

Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in GCC and India, has announced the launch of  Medcare Royal Hospital in Al Qusais. Constructed by Dubai Developments, the 126-bed medical facility spread across 334,736 square feet, will be the fourth Medcare Hospital in Dubai and the fifth in UAE on the overall, alongside 20 Medcare Medical Centres. The agreement was signed between Aster DM Healthcare and Dubai Developments today and the hospital will be operational by December 2023.

H.E Engr. Essa Al Maidor, Director General of Dubai Developments, expressed, “In accordance with the UAE’s visionary objective for 2031 to establish the UAE as one of the foremost healthcare destinations globally, we are delighted to announce our partnership with Aster DM Healthcare. The esteemed hospital will be operated by Medcare, a distinguished healthcare division of Aster DM Healthcare. Our overarching aim is to establish an exceptional healthcare facility that not only caters to the healthcare needs of the UAE populace but also provides a high-end journey for the patients to facilitate their experiences.

Slated to commence operations in 2023, it will encompass a cutting-edge healthcare facility boasting a total of 126 beds, situated in Al Qusais, Dubai. The facility comprises two structures: a parking building spanning six levels (G+6) and a modern main hospital building spanning three levels (G+3). The main building’s contemporary design intends to welcome guests with an expansive and prestigious lobby, leading to various departments and sections within the hospital.

As the developer behind this project, we aim to assume a pivotal role in elevating the UAE’s stature as the premier destination for medical treatments within the region. We aspire to contribute significantly to the comprehensive preparedness of all medical facilities and the provision of unparalleled healthcare services to the UAE community.”

The hospital is located at a close proximity to the Dubai international airport and will provide easy access to medical tourists. Al Qusais is a densely populated area which is estimated to be an average of 3.8m by 2025. The hospital will be backed by state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced medical equipments and will be enabled with the latest technology platforms to support physicians in delivering superior care and treatment outcomes for patients.

Aster DM Healthcare expanding footprint in Saudi

Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in GCC and India, is expanding its footprint in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the Aster Pharmacy division. Aster Pharmacy, the leading pharmacy chain in the UAE, through this partnership, aims to set-up and operate 250+ stores over a period of 5 years and provide ease of access to pharmaceutical and wellness products across the segments of Nutrition, Baby care, Skin Care, Home Healthcare, etc. Through this joint venture agreement, both partners will work towards bringing Aster Pharmacy’s in-house quality care products to serve the healthcare needs of the local population in KSA. The partnership plans to open and operate in high streets, communities and shopping malls of KSA beginning with Riyadh, the capital and the largest city of the Kingdom. As Phase 2, we aim to set up pharmaceutical manufacturing within the Kingdom to support the Saudi Vision 2030.

Aster DM Healthcare currently operates 446 pharmacies in India, GCC and Jordan, including 201 Pharmacies in India operated by Alfaone Retail Pharmacies Private Limited under brand license agreement. Originating in UAE, Aster Pharmacy has become a household name and has emerged as the brand of choice amongst pharmacies due to its ease of access and customer first approach. During the last financial year, Aster Pharmacy recorded 8 million visits across its units.

Speaking on the entry into the KSA market, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare said, “Aster DM Healthcare entered Saudi Arabia through Aster Sanad Hospital in Riyadh in 2016. Being the largest, most populated, and fast-growing country in GCC, we have decided to expand our presence in the Kingdom.
