The stage is set for Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif’s wedding with the celebrations kicking off with a ‘Sangeet’ ceremony on Tuesday followed by the ‘Mehendi’ ceremony on December 8.

Sources told IANS that the ‘Mehendi’ ceremony will see both the families in attendance, “Katrina and Vicky will celebrate the Mehendi ceremony with both sides of the family. Vicky has a big, loving and warm Punjabi family on his side and his chacha, chachi, mamaa, mami are all looking forward to officially welcoming Katrina into the family.”

It might be a very intimate affair with only 120 people attending the celebrations but, the power couple has left no stone unturned to mark their wedding celebrations with utmost grandeur, “The wedding preparations have been in full swing on his side for quite some time now. It’s going to be a joyous occasion for both sides with both their friends and family getting together to celebrate the couple’s special day!”

“Katrina’s family has also specially flown down from London – her mom, her sisters and brother and her close group of friends. While it’s going to be a private, intimate affair, the celebrations are still going to be grand and they have spared no expense to ensure that they make their special day a memorable one!” the source adds.

The most anticipated wedding of the season will take place on December 9 at Hotel Six Senses Fort Barwara, Rajasthan followed by a reception on December 10.

The wedding rituals of Bollywood stars Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, who will tie the nuptial knot on Thursday (December 9) at Six Senses Fort in Sawai Madhopur, will start from Tuesday.

The couple along with family and friends reached the wedding destination on Monday night where they were welcomed with grand fireworks. They were offered garlands, and ’tilak’ was applied to their foreheads.

The sangeet ceremony will start from Tuesday night.

Earlier, since Monday afternoon the Jaipur airport was buzzing with activity as Katrina’s siblings and friends arrived one after the other.

On Monday night, a dozen guests came along with Katrina and Vicky Kaushal, who were given a rousing welcome at the Barwara Fort. Three luxury vehicles were arranged to pick up the family of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif to the Barwara Fort.

Vicky and Katrina will stay at the Barwara Fort till December 12. After marriage, both are likely to visit the temple of Chauth Mata.

As per the sources, the couple will have a ‘sangeet’ ceremony on Tuesday night which will be followed by ‘Haldi’ ceremony on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Thereafter, on December 9 will come the D Day when functions like ‘Sehrabandi’ are scheduled. The couple will take ‘phere’ at 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon and then there will be dinner and poolside party at night.

The couple will tie the knot in the ‘Rajwada’ style.

This marriage ceremony has been kept strictly private.

Vicky-Katrina wedding preparations began at Rani Padmavati suite

Preparations for the much-hyped marriage between Bollywood stars Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif have begun at the Six Senses Fort Barwara located in Sawai Madhopur district in Rajasthan…reports Asian Lite News

An event management company has been entrusted with the responsibility of making all the necessary arrangements for the big day.

Accordingly, special suites have been booked for the bride and the groom at the lavish hotel. While Vicky will put up at the Raja Mansingh suite, Katrina will be staying at the Rani Padmavati suit, both most expensive suites in the hotel. The tariff for the suites is Rs 7 lakh each for one night.

Both the suites have private swimming pools and gradens attached to them, while the windows open to a grand view of the Aravali hills.

The hotel has two more suites costing Rs 7 lakh each per night, while it has 15 suites worth Rs 4 lakh. The one-night tariff for the rest of the rooms is Rs 1 lakh per room.

Security has been tightened in the entire area, and restrictions have been imposed on the movement of people.

Katrina and Vicky, along with their family members, are expected to check-in on December 6, and depart on December 11.

The wedding preparations have been entrusted to six different vendors, who will arrange flowers, decoration, security, transportation, food and jungle safaris.

For security arrangements, 100 bouncers will come from Jaipur on December 5. Rajasthan police personnel will also be deployed for the security of the VIP guests.

The wedding programmes are likely to be held between December 4 and December 12. The two are expected to tie the knot on December 9, as per Hindu customs.

The ‘Sangeet’ ceremony will be held on December 7, followed by the ‘Mehendi’ ceremony the next day.

A special reception will be held after the wedding ceremony on December 10.

Malala Yousafzai ties knot in UK

Malala also underlined the importance of girl’s education, calling it a ‘social movement’ and vowed that she would continue to advocate it in her home country…reports Asian Lite News.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has confirmed that she had tied the knot in a small nikkah ceremony at Birmingham home.

“Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead,” Yousafzai tweeted.

Malala wore a tea pink outfit paired with simple jewellery. Her husband Asser wore a simple suit and matched his tie to her outfit.

Malala’s father Ziauddin Yousafzai also posted on Twitter about the news. “It is beyond words. Toor Pekai and I are overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. Alhamdulillah,” he wrote on twitter.

Yousafzai, an advocate for girls’ education, survived a Pakistani Taliban assassination attempt when she was just 15 years old when they shot her in the head.

Since then the Oxford graduate has become a global figure promoting education for girls. In October 2012, Malala was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen for actively supporting girls’ right to education in Mingora, Swat Valley in northern Pakistan following which she left the country and shifted to Birmingham.

Malala also underlined the importance of girl’s education, calling it a ‘social movement’ and vowed that she would continue to advocate it in her home country.

At the age of 17, Malala was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her contributions to and struggle for promoting education for children. She shared the prize with Kailash Satyarthi, a children’s rights activist.

UAE Allows 80% Capacity At Weddings, Gatherings

UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) on Tuesday announced updates to protocols related to hosting celebrations, gatherings, weddings and funerals at home, and restrictions on business charter flights.

During a UAE Government media briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic, NCEMA spokesperson Dr. Taher Al Ameri said that, over the two years of the pandemic, the UAE succeeded in transforming all arising challenges to opportunities, proving its readiness to manage the worst conditions.

“The UAE’s crisis management model has become an example to be emulated, and is considered a unique experience in taking proactive measures to avoid risks,” he affirmed.

Announcing the updates, Dr. Al Ameri said, “The new protocol on home gatherings, weddings and funerals includes setting a capacity of 80 percent for such activities, and an attendee limit of not more than 60 people, in addition to 10 extra individuals as service staff.

“Attendees who have received the vaccine more than 14 days ago are allowed to attend, provided they meet the green pass requirements through the Al Hosn application, and those of the third dose and other relevant protocols.”

All attendees must provide negative results of PCR tests conducted less than 48 hours prior to the event’s date, he added.

The protocol also includes a number of preventive measures aimed at ensuring the safety of attendees, including temperature checks, mandatory face mask-wearing and sanitisation.

The entry process will be regulated to avoid overcrowding, along with using barriers to organise entry and exit activities.

“We urge attendees to not shake hands and keep to a physical distance of 1.5 metres at all times, while a maximum of 10 persons may be seated at the same table,” Dr. Al Ameri continued. “We also urge you to not show up to such events if you have any respiratory symptoms or fevers.

Al Ameri also announced the new protocol on business charter flights.

He clarified that the protocol covers resident and visiting businesspersons and stipulates they must register their arrival, by submitting the relevant through the ICA website. They must also present the official approval issued by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security and a copy of vaccination certificates upon arrival, he continued.

Businesspersons arriving in the UAE must also present a negative PCR test result with a QR code dated less than 48 hours prior to departure, as well as a negative result of a Rapid PCR test taken at the airport within six hours of the departure time.

Moreover, a PCR test will be carried out upon arrival to the UAE, with two more to be taken on the fourth and eight days. The protocol also includes cancelling the maximum capacity of business charter flights, allowing all vaccinated businesspersons to enter the UAE as per the set guidelines.

Nod for outdoor weddings for first time

It comes as a relaxation of coronavirus restrictions in England and Wales from Monday will increase the number of people able to attend weddings and civil partnerships…reports Asian Lite News.

Outdoor civil wedding and partnership ceremonies in England and Wales will be permitted for the first time from next month.

The ceremonies at approved premises such as hotels currently need to be in a room or other permanent structure, the BBC reported.

The change, which also applies to civil partnerships, will allow outdoor ceremonies from July to next April, and will mean more guests can attend events affected by social-distancing rules, it was reported.

A consultation will take place to see if the change should become permanent.

It comes as a relaxation of coronavirus restrictions in England and Wales from Monday will increase the number of people able to attend weddings and civil partnerships.

Justice Secretary Robert Buckland said: “A couple’s wedding day is one of the most special times in their lives and this change will allow them to celebrate it the way that they want.”

“At the same time, this step will support the marriage sector by providing greater choice and helping venues to meet demand for larger ceremonies,” he said.

The change will benefit almost 75% of all weddings in England and Wales that are non-religious and which take place on approved premises, along with civil partnerships.

A Law Commission report later this year will present options for further reforms which will then be considered by the government.
